Abase
The word Abase means to be belittle someone or to behave in a way that lowers your sense of dignity or self-esteem.
"I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." - Philippians 4:12

Abate
The word Abate/Abated means a reduction of intensity or to make less.
"And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated." - Genesis 8:3

Abba
The word Abba is a term expressing warm affection and confidence and is often followed by the word father, "Abba Father".It is only listed in the Bible three times, but is often used to begin a prayer.
"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." - Galatians 4:6

Abhor

The word Abhor means to despise or to stay away from in fear, disgust, or hatred.
"Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good." - Romans 12:9

Abide

The word Abide means to tolerate someone or something.
"And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us." - I John 3:24

Abound
The word Abound means to be plentiful or well supplied or contain something in large amounts.
"A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." - Proverbs 28:20

Abomination
The word Abomination means something shameful, something that is immoral, disgusting, or shameful.
"And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." - Luke 16:15

Acceptation
The word Acceptation is an archaic word used in the King James Version that means acceptance or approval.
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." - I Timothy 1:15 

Acquit
The word Acquit means to render a person not guilty of something; to exonerate or release one from an obligation.
"If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity." - Job 10:14

Adultery
There are two types of Adultery mention in the Bible, Physical and Spiritual.

Physical Adultery means Conjugal infidelity, a man or woman who had intercourse physically or mentally with someone other than their spouse while he/she was married or engaged to another. 

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." - Matthew 5:28

Spiritual Adultery means following other gods (idols), these gods or idols are material things such as money, fame, people, anything that takes the place of God in their lives.

"That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them." - Ezekiel 23:37

Adversary
The word Adversary means one that speaks against another, an enemy, or referring to the devil. 
"But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent." - I Kings 5:4

Alleluia
The word Alleluia is a Greek word meaning "Praise the Lord".
"And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:" - Revelation 19:1

Amen
The word Amen is a Greek word meaning to be trustworthy, firm, and faithful. When we say Amen when closing a prayer we are telling God that we are putting our trust in Him and are putting our faith in Him. 
"And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground." - Nehemiah 8:6

Anoint
The word Anoint means to rub oil or a perfume on a part of the body, usually the head or feet or object. There are five different types of anointing.

1. The act of anointing signified ordaining or appointing someone such as a high priest or king.
"Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him." - Exodus 29:7

2. Anointing was also an act of hospitality, it was custom for the Jews to anoint themselves with oil (perfume) as a means of refreshing or invigorating their bodies.
"And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment." - Luke 7:38

3. Oil was also to anoint the sick, it was applied to them for healing.
"And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them." - Mark 6:13

4. Often the bodies of the dead were anointed before burying them.
"She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying." - Mark 14:8

5. Jesus is also known as the Anointed. 
"
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." - Acts 10:38

Antichrist
The word Antichrist means to be against Jesus Christ or to oppose Him and refers to false teachers.
"
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist." - II John 1:7

Armageddon
The word Armageddon is the Greek word that symbolizes where the great battle between Jesus and the Antichrist's will take place.
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon." - Revelation 16:16

Ascend
The word Ascend means to move upward, to go upward, usually vertically or into the air.
"
And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man." - John 1:51

Assure/Assurance
The word Assure/Assurance means to make someone feel confident, to overcome somebody's doubt or disbelief about something.
"
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake." - I Thessalonians 1:5

Atonement
The word Atonement was used in the Old Testament to signify the reconciliation between God and His people. We have now received permanent atonement through Jesus.
"
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement." - Romans 5:11
