What
is Religion? Religion
is defined as the service and worship of God or the supernatural.
Since ancient tribal times, religion in general evolved out of man
trying to explain events of which he knew little about. Religion
always uses the term god to instantly imply that deity exists outside
of mankind. In that sense, religion is a man-made attempt to reach a
far away, external deity. This is not unlike the tower built in Babel
(Read the Book of Genesis) to try and somehow climb up to where God
supposedly exists. Man always seems to see God as up, far and away
from himself; an old man with a white beard, perhaps sitting on a
throne in a cloud. He sees his god as someone who must be
climbed up to; and if one is good enough he may enjoy god's blessing.
By believing in a god that is external, we also create the
beliefs that this same god may also be vengeful. Religion always
builds walls of separation to divide man from Spirit. It is an
attempt in placing God somewhere outside of mankind.
Religion
typically tells us we are separate from this fearful god they create
and of course we need to do something about it. It is no
surprise then that religion also claims to have the cure for our
ailment. Harmful religion is most easily identified when it uses
fear, guilt and condemnation in the name of their god to gain
converts. What most today call "Christianity" is never the
true message of Jesus. Truly, a religion was created in Jesus' name
after his ministry, while His true message only attacked religion and
the religious leaders who led the common people astray!
Many
people believe that no matter what religion they belong to God is
there and if they do this or that they can maybe go to heaven. This
can not be further from the truth! The truth is there is only One way
to know God and heaven and that is by accepting the Lord, Jesus
Christ as the Son of God, whom died on the cross for all the sin of
the world, was buried and arose three days later so that we can enjoy
eternal life with God. No religion on this earth will get you to
heaven, there is only One God, and He is not someone that you can
just make up or create an image of all on your own. The closest
person we will ever know to God is Jesus, who is God in the flesh,
and once again, He is the only way to heaven.
I have
researched several of the so called Christian religions of today and
even some that have been around for centuries and how they differ
from true Christianity. I am in no way endorsing any of these
religions on this page, I am an Independent Baptist and it is not
considered a denomination or religion, we are Bible based from the
New Testament, King James Version Only. I am only providing this
information to show the truth about false religions and doctrines
that are literally sending people straight to hell. I want as many
people as I can tell to know the truth so at least they can decide
for themselves whether or not they want to live by the truth or
continue living a lie. One needs to seriously think about what they
are being taught by their religion, if it does not line up with the
New Testament, than you are being deceived. I pray that this
information will help you see and follow the truth.
Truth
About Religion Religion
is the worst thing that ever happened to this world. Tons and tons of
books about the religions of the world have been printed. The sins of
religious people are amongst the most awful sins of all. The sin of
legalism is the system of trying to impress God with something you
can do, rather than be impressed with what God has done through Jesus
Christ.
Let’s consider a religious person talked about in
the Bible. His name was Nicodemus. He was a very well educated man.
He was a Pharisee (religious leader). Nicodemus was a very proud,
vain, legalistic and hypocritical man. "There
was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The
same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that
thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles
that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto
him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God."
- John 3:1-3. No doubt, he hoped to impress Jesus with his flattery.
He addressed Jesus as “Rabbi” (an official title of honor). To
Nicodemus, Jesus was a teacher, nothing more. Though Nicodemus had a
body and a soul, his spirit was dead. He had no ability to fellowship
with God, because he was “spiritually dead”. He had never been
born spiritually. If you are to be “born-again”, you must accept
Jesus Christ as your Savior. This is such a wonderful truth that is
taught in the Bible. Many people, far beyond count, just don’t
believe upon the Son of God. They believe in a God; maybe a god of
wood, of stone, of metal, of spirit, of knowledge, of power, of
nature, etc. Religion by the ton, of every sort, of every kind.
Religion, religion and more religion. People have all kinds of ideas
what God should be like. If they can’t find a god that is already
made for them, they will make a new god to their liking.
Many
religions will offer you answers to these questions, but the answers
are not found in religion. The answers are found in a person, the
Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son! Miracles are happening
today, just as in the time of our Lord Jesus. You may have not
thought about this before, but it takes a miracle to become a child
of God. Salvation is a supernatural act of God in response to our
child-like faith in Christ alone. When we reach that point in life
where God has drawn us to make that decision to either accept or
reject His Son Jesus Christ as our Savior from sin, a miracle will or
will not take place; depending on what we do with Jesus. Whether we
reject or accept the Son of God as our Savior is totally up to each
of us. If we reject Christ, no miracle of the new birth takes place.
On the other hand, if we accept Christ as our Savior,
admitting that we are sinners and that we do want Christ to come into
our hearts, our sins will be forgiven immediately. The new birth
takes place immediately...not partially over time, not in steps; but
instantly the very second we accept Jesus as Savior. We then belong
to God, we are adopted into His family. A miracle has taken place and
according to the Scriptures, there is no power, no person, or
anything in this universe that can separate us from the love of God;
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord, “Who
shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long;
we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things
we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am
persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Romans
8:35-39.
The question of accepting or rejecting Christ must be
settled in your heart. Whether you are a church-goer, give lots of
money to charities, and do all kinds of religious works, it really
doesn’t matter. What matters is—ARE YOU A BORN AGAIN CHILD OF
GOD? No amount of religion or outward self-righteousness can help you
on judgment day. Salvation is not found in a religion; but in a
person, Jesus Christ. It’s simple! You are a sinner in need of a
Savior. Stop trying to save yourself and decide to rely upon Jesus.
Only Jesus paid for your sins, so only He alone can save!
