Job 35:1 Elihu spake moreover, and said,

Job 35:2 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?

Job 35:3 For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

Job 35:4 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

Job 35:5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

Job 35:6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

Job 35:7 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

Job 35:8 Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

Job 35:9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

Job 35:10 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

Job 35:11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

Job 35:12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

Job 35:13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

Job 35:14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

Job 35:15 But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

Job 35:16 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.


Job 36:1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,

Job 36:2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.

Job 36:3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

Job 36:4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

Job 36:5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

Job 36:6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

Job 36:7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

Job 36:8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

Job 36:9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

Job 36:10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

Job 36:12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

Job 36:13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

Job 36:14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

Job 36:15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

Job 36:16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

Job 36:17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.

Job 36:18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.

Job 36:19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

Job 36:20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.

Job 36:21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

Job 36:22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

Job 36:23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

Job 36:24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

Job 36:25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.

Job 36:26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

Job 36:27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:

Job 36:28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

Job 36:29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

Job 36:30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

Job 36:31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

Job 36:32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

Job 36:33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.

Pro 26:1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.

Pro 26:2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

Pro 26:3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

Pro 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Pro 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

Pro 26:6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

Pro 26:7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

Pro 26:8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.

Pro 26:9 As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

Pro 26:10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.

Pro 26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Pro 26:12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

Pro 26:13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

Pro 26:14 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.

Pro 26:15 The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.

Pro 26:16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

Pro 26:17 He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.

Pro 26:18 As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,

Pro 26:19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?

Pro 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

Pro 26:21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

Pro 26:22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Pro 26:23 Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.

Pro 26:24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;

Pro 26:25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.

Pro 26:26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.

Pro 26:27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

Pro 26:28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

Psa 16:1 Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

Psa 16:2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

Psa 16:3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

Psa 16:4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

Psa 16:5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

Psa 16:6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

Psa 16:7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

Psa 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Psa 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Psa 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
