Calamity
The word Calamity means to be in distress, it is misery or distress resulting from a disastrous event.

"They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay." - II Samuel 22:19


Calvary

The word Calvary is the Latin name for Calvaria, which was used as a translation of the Greek word Kranion, by which the Hebrew word Gulgoleth was interpreted as  "the place of a skull". Calvary is the hill just outside the city walls of ancient Jerusalem where the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ took place.

"And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left." - Luke 22:33


Charity

The word Charity means love.

"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up" - I Corinthians 13:4


Cherub

The Cherub/Cherubim is depicted as an angel of some sort. The cherubim were symbolical. They were intended to represent spiritual existences in immediate contact with God.

"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." - Genesis 3:24


Circumcise

The word circumcise means to to remove the prepuce of a male, esp. as a religious rite or to purify spiritually.

"Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings." - Jeremiah 4:4


Clamour

The word Clamour means to be in persistent demand, a persistent demand for something, made in an excited or angry way.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:" - Ephesians 4:31


Cleanse

The word Cleanse means to wash someone clean of their sins, to free someone from all sin or guilt.

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." - I John 1:7


Cleave

The word Cleave means to cling faithfully to someone, to cling closely, steadfastly, or faithfully to someone such as a spouse.

"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." - Genesis 2:24


Cockatrice

The word Cockatrice means a venomous serpent.

"For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD." - Jeremiah 8:17


Commandments

The word Commandments means a command or mandate, it also refers to the commonly knows Ten Commandments, these were solely written by the finger of God on two tablets. (Re: Exodus Chapters 19, 32, & 34)

"And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee." - Exodus 15:26


Communion

The word Communion is commonly known as "The Lord's Supper"  which means to fellowship with God. It  commemorates the last supper that Jesus had with His disciples. During Communion or "The Lord's Supper" bread and wine (grape juice) are consumed and represented by the Body of Christ. "The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it." - Mark 14:21-23

"The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?" -I Corinthians 10:16


Concision

The word Concision means mutilation. 

"Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision" - Philippians 3:2


Concubine

The word Concubine means, a mistress. A Concubine was a woman that lived with a man that had no authority in the family, nor could they share in the household government. As time progressed the custom of concubinage degenerated, and laws were made to restrain and regulate it. 

"And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve" - Genesis 35:22

Concupiscence
The word means sexual desire or lust.

"But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead." - Romans 7:8


Condemnation

The word Condemnation means to prove someone guilty, to serve as proof of the guilt of someone. It also means
to force someone to experience something very unpleasant and long lasting.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." - John 5:24


Covenant
The word Covenant means a contract or agreement between God and His believer. 

"And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh." - Genesis 9:15


Covetousness

The word Covetousness means to have a strong desire to possess worldly things that take place before God. 

"The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days." - Proverbs 28:16

Cross

The word cross refers to a severe affliction or trial. It was also the instrument of crucifixion used for Jesus' death. 

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." - Matthew 16:24
