contrasting good and evil, meditation on the majesty of God’s works
and the insignificance of man.
Hello
My Friend/Guest,
“I
will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God;
for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath
covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh
himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her
jewels. For
as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the
things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will
cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the
nations.”
- Isaiah 61:10,11.
There is no better joy to the soul than to
have Jesus Christ in it, even though God's faithful of the Old
Testament did not see Jesus they too lived by faith, believing that
one day Jesus, known as the Messiah, would come and save them. Even
though God chose Israel to represent as His people, every person,
from every nation that calls on the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior
is clothed with the garments of salvation and are His people too.
“And
this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this
life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life.”
- I John 5:11,12.
The soul is the spiritual, rational and
immortal substance in man, like I said once before, our soul
magnifies how we feel spiritually, mentally, and physically. It's
like our shadow, it always follows us no matter where we go,
sometimes it's hidden where there is no light, but it is always
there. That is why it is important to feed our soul with God's robe
of righteousness. We are His people, therefore, we are not to feed
our souls with the things that destroy our minds and bodies.
“Little
children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is
righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the
devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the
Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the
devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed
remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”
- I John 3:7-9.
Without Jesus Christ in us, our soul is a
walking, talking dead person controlled by Satan himself. Those who
accept Christ become sons of God, are reborn with His Spirit in us
and it is that spirit in us that covers us with the robe of
righteousness. “Jesus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of
water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That
which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born
again.”
- John 3:5-7.
Can I tell you that God does not expect you to
do a complete 180 the second you receive Christ as your Savior, it
takes time to grow, but as we allow Christ to live in and through us
we lose the desire to do the unrighteous things as they are replaced
by the righteous “Hear
counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy
latter end. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the
counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.”
- Proverbs 19:20,21.
So, what are the righteous things? These
are known as the fruit or the works of the Spirit, while our works
can not save us, the things we do after we are saved determines our
rewards up in heaven. One by one as we replace the works of our flesh
with the works of the Spirit we learn to desire the righteous things.
“Now
the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft,
hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the
which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that
they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there
is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with
the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk
in the Spirit.”
- Galatians 5:19-25.
Can I be honest with you? The works of
the flesh can be joyful, but guess what, they do not last. It's like
an addiction, once the high wears off you are sad, depressed, and
looking for something else to feed your soul to bring that joy back.
However, walking in the Spirit, doing the things that God would want
you to do, that brings true joy. Oh, we will still go through so pain
and suffering once in a while, but Christ will lift us up and make
our soul joyful. “Beloved,
think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch
as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory
shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be
reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of
glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken
of, but on your part he is glorified.”
- I Peter 4:12-14.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
