Today's Message: Believing Lies Instead of Truths
It is amazing to think that people listen and believe lies instead of the truth, but as always, lies are easier to accept than the truth, especially if the truth hurts.

All Israelite's were called to be holy and to serve the Lord, and in return, God promised to provide all their needs. Instead, the majority of the people had forsaken the Lord and His covenant, falling for false doctrine, prophesies, and worshiping false gods (idols). God used the prophet Jeremiah to speak to the Israelite's concerning their rejection to His covenant. “The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem; And say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant, Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God: That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.” - Jeremiah 11:1-5. God is telling His people that they are cursed if they do not obey the words of His covenant. They are cursed because they have not been taught the truth from their fathers, but if they simply learn and obey the words of His covenant. There are very few Christian's today that know what that covenant is. That covenant is God's "Testament", and it is God's Will passed down to His people. There are two of them, the Old Testament and the New Testament, most people have a copy of that covenant in their home, and never read it so they too are cursed as the Israelite's.

God also warned those who have been destroying His Word what they were about to face, “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart. The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.” - Jeremiah 12:10-12. Those who claim to be pastors have made the truths of God's Word confusing and deceiving. Why? Because no man seems to care about studying God's Word, and placing that Word in their hearts. They rather listen to someone preaching then get in the book and study His Word themselves.

It's amazing when you read this book, even though it was written centuries ago, it feels as though we are reading about the present time. Nations that were once nations under God are quickly losing God and everything He represents. They are believing for the lies that are being told and sadly falling into a deep pit. Peter warned against false prophets and teachers and the consequences they were about to face. “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” - II Peter 2:1-3. There will be many claiming to know the truth and sadly many, many will believe and follow them, but they will not go unpunished.

We all have a choice to make, we can continue to believe the lies that are being told by false prophets, pastors, and teachers, or we can learn for ourselves what the truth is. The truth is this, if you want a relationship with God you need to know His Word and the only way to know that is by knowing Jesus Christ. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” - John 14:6 . Unless you have accepted this fact, nothing you do, no amount of praying, no amount of good deeds, no amount of pleading will get God to listen to you. I will tell you this, I might not have all the answers in my studies or even understand some of the things I read from the Bible, but I can say one thing for sure, everything I write about can be referenced from the King James Bible and lines up with God's Word. Even if I attempt write about something that I have misinterpreted God will get me to see my error before I even publish it. Some days it takes me two - three hours to even write a message because I have not allowed the Holy Spirit to guide me the correct way. When Christ is in our lives, God will always show us the truth, no matter how long it takes.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, we give thanks to You that we can walk in victory because of Your Son Jesus Christ.  Once we were held captive by sin and its enslavement, but we have been set free through the redemptive work of Jesus and His glorious resurrection. Each day brings new challenges, but we overcome them through the blood of the Lamb.  Help us to stand firm in our faith and immovable in Your truths, as we daily serve You.  We are encouraged to know that nothing we do for You is in vain though we may not see immediate results. Keep us obedient and help us to increase our trust and faith in You daily. In Jesus' Name...........Amen.
