Today's
Message: Eternal
Treasures
Eternal
treasures can only be gained as we truly desire, more than anything
else, to be guided by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.
When
one thinks of the word giant one can imagine a person or thing
of unusually great size, power, and importance, these giants can be a
career, hobbies, or people. The powerful
influence of these giants often seek to lure us away from God's
eternal purpose for our lives. Actually, the these giants are beasts
that can steal our time and destroy our testimony of God's blessings,
if we yield to them. Fifty years earlier, Nebuchadnezzar had viewed a
great, glorious giant figure, representing succeeding world empires
that would exist until the end of time (Chapter 2). These same world
kingdoms were presented from far different points of view. God
reveals these future world events to Daniel in a dream. “In
the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and
visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told
the sum of the matters. Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by
night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the
great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one
from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I
beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from
the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart
was given to it. And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear,
and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the
mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it,
Arise, devour much flesh. After this I beheld, and lo another, like a
leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the
beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. After this I
saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and
terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it
devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet
of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it;
and it had ten horns.” - Daniel 7:1-7. The great sea driven
by opposing winds represents the confusion and competition that exist
in the world, and from this violent situation arise four savage
beasts, whom are world rulers, representing the history of the world
from the time of Daniel to the kingdom of Christ. The savage beasts
represent the kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.
These beasts were symbols of selfishness, heartless cruelty
and strife. Daniel saw world monarchs in their rebellion against God
and contending for mastery over competitors. Selfish ambition to
achieve worldly dominion has reduced men to the level of beasts and
the result will be the destruction of many great nations. However,
in the midst of all the chaos God assures us that He will support and
comfort His people through it all. “I saw in
the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the
clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought
him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory,
and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve
him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass
away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” -
Daniel 7:13,14. The Son of man, is none other than Jesus Christ and
He is coming to destroy every anti-christian power that is deceiving
His people and will have dominion over His own kingdom upon the
earth, which He promises will not be destroyed.
It is
desirable to obtain the right and full sense of what we see and hear
from God, those that want to know, must ask by faithful and fervent
prayer. Daniel, eager to learn of what his visions meant, asked in
prayer for the meaning. “Thus he said, The
fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be
diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and
shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of
this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise
after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall
subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most
High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to
change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a
time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit,
and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it
unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the
kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the
saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and
all dominions shall serve and obey him.” - Daniel 7:23-27.
This refers to the second coming of our blessed Lord, when the saints
shall triumph in the complete fall of Satan's kingdom. The saints of
the Most High shall possess the kingdom for ever. The full
accomplishment will be in the everlasting happiness of the saints,
the kingdom that cannot be moved. The gathering together the whole
family of God will be a blessedness of Christ's coming.
While
we are blessed to enjoy many things here on earth, we must not let
the giants that keep us from doing the will of God have dominion over
us. “Love not the world, neither the things
that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the
Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the
flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the
Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust
thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
- I John 2:15-17.
Today's
Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord,
I thank You for the
great deliverance and transfer that took place when I surrendered my
heart to You. You delivered me from the dominion of darkness and
transferred me into the Kingdom of Your Son in whom I have redemption
and the forgiveness of all sin. Now I walk in the light of
Jesus and His kingdom which is righteousness, peace and joy in the
Holy Spirit. Help me never to forget the great rescue and change You
brought into my life. In Jesus' Name.............Amen.
Have
a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy the rest of your week.
God
Bless You,
Christina
