Today's Message: Eyes of Faith
Problems are rarely what they first seem to be, but if we pray for God to allow us to see through the eyes of faith we are sure to overcome each and every one of them.

King David was one of the most faithful men of God in the Old Testament, he habitually sought God in all that he did and gave recognition to Him each time He delivered him out of distress. “I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears................He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.” - Psalm 18:1-6,17-20. It is amazing what the power of prayer did for David, his apparent defeat was turned into victory. David's victories were a result of his recognition of God in all that He did, He not only praised God through his distress, he also acknowledged that he could not be successful without Him. The same things happen to all who are faithful and trust in God to help us through our own distress.

Seeking victory, David sings a battle hymn and prayer trusting in the Lord for victory, he also desired that his conversation and thoughts please God. “Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.............. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” - Psalm 20:6-9,14. Next to the revelation of God's love, there is not a single more important subject on the lips of Christ that the importance of knowing God's Word. The constant repeated reminder to read His Word proves that God knows our heart and how easily we are inclined to repeat our prayers without expecting an answer. If David could pray and then testify how God would deliver him from Saul and all his armies, how much more can we pray and trust in His answering power? God's Word is the source of any desire that we might have to please Him. God does not force anyone to love Him or to live for Him. He only enters into and reigns in the hearts of those who desire Him and His Word. Those who desire that their words, thoughts, and prayers please the Lord will read His Word faithfully.

An amazing prophecy is given foretelling the suffering that Jesus would endure on the cross and His death. “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.............All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him...............I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.” - Psalm 22:1,2,7,8,14-16. What an amazing discovery, as many times as I have read this Psalm I never caught that it was related to Christ. However, what is even more amazing is the fact that God does not expect me to know and remember everything that I have read. He knows exactly how much information I can handle at one time and at the right time. God does the same for all who desire to read His Word, He knows exactly when it is time for us to learn new truths, if He tried to give it to us all at once, we would get it all mixed up and completely wrong. Thank God, He knows us better than we do and as long as we have the eyes of faith we can never disappoint Him. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” - Romans 10:17.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We don’t pray for a life of ease since we know that virtues listed in Scripture are often refined in our lives through the challenges, the overcomings, the mistakes and the hours we spend in prayer seeking You above all else. May the nature of Christ be much more visible than our human nature so that we are truly a reflection of Your image that is stamped deep in our hearts. In Jesus; Name.............Amen.

Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless,
Christina
