Details of Today's Chapters: Paul writes the people at Corinth, a division among the churches, one Gospel, God's faithfulness, God's temple, God's mysteries revealed, and brothers in Christ,

Hello My Friend/Guest,

Today we start reading the Book of I Corinthians, the Book of I Corinthians is the forty-sixth book of the Bible, the seventh book of the New Testament, and contains sixteen chapters. The author of the book is Paul and it was written to the believers and Corinth. The purpose of the book was to address the problems that have been brought to Paul's attention concerning the division and questions between the Corinthian believers. What we are to learn from the book is that love is the greatest spiritual key to an effective Christian life and ministry. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” - I Corinthians 2:9 .

This epistle (letter) was written to rebuke some disorderly conduct, of which the apostle had been made aware of and to give advice as to some points whereon his judgment was requested by the Corinthians. “
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:..God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” I Corinthians 1:2,9,10.

Paul
spent nearly two years at Corinth, where he preached with great success and was the instrument of converting many people, who by him were formed into a church state, consisting both of Jews and Gentiles. The peace of this church was disturbed by false teachers, who undermined the influence of the apostle and now the church has split causing much strife. Now, Paul is trying to lessen the confusion and debate. “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” - I Corinthians 1:21-24.

You know, sometimes God will allow a person to get saved by foolish preaching, foolish preaching is telling a person the truth about the Gospel, but eliminating other things from the Bible that should be preached. Why does He allow that? Paul explains, “
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?” - I Corinthians 3:1-3.

When we first get saved we still think with a carnal mind, meaning worldly, we have been fed spiritual milk that nourishes us as a baby Christian. As we follow Christ and learn more we grow spiritually and think less carnal, so, that milk is no longer satisfying, and we need meat, which is God's Word. There are a lot of churches out there that feed you milk and that is it, for instance, mega churches, they have thousands of people from all denominations together, they are good at getting people saved, but their doctrine is not complete. They feed you milk, but they do not give you the meat you need as you grow. Think about it, do you think that a mega church is going to preach that a couple living together without being married is sin? Or that homosexuality is sin? No, because they do not want to offend anyone. “
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” - Hebrews 5:13,14.

Incidentally, this is why there are so many different versions of the Bible, they make God into the image that they believe Him to be so, they do not have to feel convicted for doing something that they know is wrong, but eventually as we grow we realize something is missing. I went to a mega church for a year and a half, it got me to be faithful to God and reconfirmed my salvation, but as I grew spiritually it was not enough, something was missing and now I my home is an Independent Baptist church. We have to be careful where we choose to worship God, if we remain at a church because we know people there or it is just close to home knowing that something is just not right, it is time to find a new one. Now, do not mistake conviction for the wrong doctrine, sometimes pride takes us away from where we need to be, but God lets you know when you need to find a new church.

God reveals everything to us that we need to know at that time, can you imagine how confused we would be if we tried to learn everything God has to teach us all at once? That is why we grow slowly. “
Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” - I Corinthians 2:6-10.

God has so much to show and tell us as we grow and even much more to reveal to us in heaven. Praise God! Right now, you are where you need to be, the foundation has been laid and you are standing upon the rock of Christ. Brick by brick God is building something great inside of you, “
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” - I Corinthians 3:12-15. No matter what we do, if we do it upon the foundation of Christ we will not fail, and even if we do fall from time to time God will bless us through it. Praise God!

Be blessed, enjoy the rest of your day/night and week,
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
