Today's Message: Gift of Wisdom
God has blessed us with many gifts, including wisdom, but what we do with those gifts can determine whether or not we will be successful in all things or fall flat on our faces.

Wisdom is defined as having knowledge or the ability to understand and reason, in other words, it's having common sense in using the knowledge that we have. “I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” - Proverbs 4:11-22. God gives us two paths to choose from, the right path and the wicked path, which one we choose will determine our successes and failures in life. Incidentally, one does not have to just be hanging around someone who is wicked in order to become wicked themselves, the programs watched, the games played, the songs heard, and the things read all contribute to the thoughts and temptations that lead one into following the path of wickedness.

Wisdom is a wonderful gift from God, but it can literally be deadly if we go against our common sense and try to use the knowledge we have obtained for our own advancement. It's one thing to want to know things when it's helpful to God and to others, but it's another to want to know them for selfish reasons. God warns us of seven selfish sins that are deadly, “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” - Proverbs 6:16-19. All sin is selfishness in some form or another, all of them are manifestations of hatred/envy against one's neighbor and four consist of displaying falseness and malice proceeding from the mouth. Pride is essentially sinful self-esteem, delighting in the thought of one's superiority over his fellows, it can cause many of the other deadly sins to follow suit. God reveals the only sure way to avoid these deadly sins, “My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.” - Proverbs 6:20,21. When we learn and study God's Word we know His commands, therefore we will keep them in our hearts and even if we fall we always find the way to get back up and get back on the right track.

Anyone who has been drawn into sin should genuinely repent of this evil and ask God for forgiveness. Some are deceived by the Devil who always says, you can wait until tomorrow, or you can do it just one more time, but the Word of God is final. Sadly, many people make the mistake of thinking that if they do not read God's Word they are safe from His wrath because of their ignorance. However, they are only proving themselves fools, “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.” - I Corinthians 3:18-20. God knows what everyone's intentions are, He is no fool and will not let anyone take Him for one. “And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.” - Acts 3:17-21.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We want to live above the fray of this world as a people of righteousness set apart for Your purpose. We forsake the things of this world that bring disgrace to Your holy name and live for the purpose of bringing glory, honor and praise to You, our Father. We pray for our nation, for the turning away from our sins and turning toward the abundant life we find in Christ our Lord. You’ve called us to repentance and to share the good news of salvation to all who are lost.  Help us to seek a fresh calling upon our lives to be obedient in this commission from Scripture. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy the rest of your week.
God Bless,
Christina
