Today's Message: Glory of The Lord
As Christian's we seem to face more trials than anyone can handle, one can often wonder why we can not get ahead when others seem to have everything handed to them. However, the Glory of The Lord is all we need and once we realize that we will see that all who follow Christ will prosper, even if it does take a while.

Today we begin reading the Psalms that are centered around the sanctuary (Temple of God) and looking forward to it's establishment. As King David comes near the end of his life and hands the rein over to Solomon, he prays one last prayer. “Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son. He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment. The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.” - Psalm 72:1-4. David does not pray for Solomon as a son, but as a king who will lead God's people into righteousness. Solomon, was to build God's Temple and be a godly example for all to follow, sadly he did not always set a godly example, which eventually led to Jerusalem's destruction years later. We too need to pray for our leaders, all one needs to do is take a look at the world today and see that we are slowly heading toward destruction just as Jerusalem was destroyed.

A series of Psalms have been written by Asaph, David's song leader, he laments over how the wicked prosper, but then he walks into the sanctuary, praises God as he realizes that God helps the righteous triumph over the wicked. “Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men...........Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. …......So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.” - Psalm 73:1-5, 17, 22-28. At times it seems that the more we do to live for God the more we lose while the those who refuse God get more and more. However, God is good and Asaph reminds us that even through the wicked enjoy glory for a time, it will not last, but when we enjoy glory, it will last forever because we enjoy the glory of the Lord.

We can whine and cry and wallow in our sorrows because we can not seem to move forward, but take it from someone who just realized this, for the gazillionth time, it does nothing for you. In order to keep moving forward we need to put our trust in God and let Him guide us. Remember, we are to cast our burdens upon Jesus and He will give us rest. Jesus Said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30. Those who accept the course of life's events and cast their burdens upon Jesus will thank Him in humble prayer, knowing that He will take us on the path that leads to daily fellowship and a wholehearted surrender to know Christ and live entirely for Him.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
You have placed Your children in a world where people push and shove to be first. Because of their self-importance they demand recognition and will stop at nothing until they get what they want in life, even if it means hurting others in the process.  We are blessed Lord, that You have called us to view life from a perspective that considers others as important as ourselves.  We are to have a humble attitude that puts You first, others second, and ourselves last in everything we do.  In our humanity this is impossible, but as we are being transformed into the likeness of You Jesus, we become more like You.  Our love and consideration for others grows and we apply the golden rule to our lives where we do to others as we would have them do to us. May this relationship rule guide us as we make decisions that affect others and ourselves. Help us to have the mind of Christ in all that we do. In Jesus' Name...........Amen.

Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless,
Christina
