Today's Message: God Is The Answer
Ignoring that God is in control does not escape the fact that each and every person or thing on this earth belongs to Him. The sooner we realize that the better off we will be. I
gnorance is not the answer, God is.

Often nations strive off of the suffering of others, the smallest nation can become so large that it deems itself as indestructible and above God. At the time of the Exodus, Egypt had grown to be a magnificent world power and had become famous in commerce, art, literature, science, and military might. Egypt was a great nation that never seemed to grasp the fact that God is in control of even heathen nations. You would think that the ten plagues that forced the Egyptians, the Pharaoh, and his counselors to acknowledge that their own gods were powerless against the One True God would have caused them to reject their idols and worship the One True God of creation? However, they refused to hearken to God and Ezekiel foretold of the end of Egypt as a great nation. “Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt: Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself. But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales. And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven. And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel. ” - Ezekiel 29:2-6. Nations can turn away from God all they want, but that does not change the fact that He is still in control and sooner or later He will make that fact known.

Although Egypt would no longer be a great powerful nation of the world, it would not be utterly destroyed as Babylon would be. “
Yet thus saith the Lord GOD; At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were scattered: And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom. It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations. And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, which bringeth their iniquity to remembrance, when they shall look after them: but they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.” - Ezekiel 29:13-16. Still today, Egypt has never regained the status of a world empire. It remains as a witness to the supreme authority of God. As well as Egypt, God cause judgment upon Israel, Judah, Tyre, Sidon, Babylon, and many other nations proving to them that God is always in control and that “I am the Lord”. Incidentally, this phrase is mentioned 66 times in this book alone to point out the importance of obeying the Word of God.

There is nothing more self destructive than wanting to improve ourselves, God will give us everything that we desire, but we need to make sure that what we want lines up with God's Word or we will never get it or keep it for very long. The worldly carnal mind prides itself on it's skills, possessions, and wealth, disregarding the fact that it was received from God. Naturally, everything that we enjoy and possess should be used for God's purpose, but rarely is it even acknowledged that He gave them to us. Jesus said, “
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” - Matthew 6:19-21. God blesses us with temporary things here on earth to enjoy, but none of it needs to be taken to the grave with us so to speak. We can not take any of it with us and to tell you the truth no one is really happy with these things. Oh, they temporarily make us smile, but deep down we know something is missing. In fact the more we receive, the more we want because no one is ever satisfied with what they have at present. It took me a long to to recognize that fact, I spent years reaching for a certain title, person, or thing and every time I got what I wanted I always wanted more. I was never truly happy until I gave it all up and realized that God was in control, no matter how independent I am I know that I can not do anything without God, unless I want to see everything fall apart again. It is time that we all recognize the fact that we truly have nothing without God.

Today's Prayer:

Dear God,
Lord, I know that contentment with godliness is of great benefit.  It brings about a lasting peace and grateful heart that only You can give.  Help me not to focus so much on the material possessions that I lose sight of that which is of vital importance.  May the character of my soul and the fruit of my actions be of much greater importance than the treasure I seek here on earth. I look to You for proper balance in the things You have blessed me with and the attitude in which I receive these good things from Your hands. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.

Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy the rest of your week.

God Bless You,
Christina
