Today's Message: God's Patience
God has a greater desire to bless us than our desire to be changed. His mercy and long-suffering waits patiently until we are ready to yield to His ways.

As Christian's, we are constantly being put to the test by Satan, he will often tempt a faithful servant of God with thoughts of fear like, your faith is too weak, you are not righteous enough, and even are you really saved. David wrote a Psalm to help during times like these, “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. …........ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.” - Psalm 37:3-5,7-9. No matter how much Satan tries to discourage us into thinking that we are not important to God we just need to keep moving forward. God knows what we are doing for Him and He loves us for it. As long as we keep going, trusting in Him and delighting ourselves in Him than we have nothing to worry about.

Sometimes, Satan will even use our loved ones, unknowingly, to distract us from our time with God in order to do good, but worldly things. During times like these God is even quick to forgive us and get us back on track. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” - Psalm 38:23,24. It is the loving desire of God to gain first place in the hearts of all His children. He imparts His love and power to all who are willing to yield themselves to Him. There may be times when we get distracted, but he knows our hearts and knows how much we long to do His will. He will never cast down anyone who is trying their best to serve Him.

As David was watching a fire burn and as the flame turned to ashes, he was prompted to record this Psalm. “My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue, LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am. Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.” - Psalm 39:3-5. He was reminded of how quick life passed him by and how fast it faded and ends. The truth is that we really do not know when our last breath on earth will be. Do we really want to spend our days wishing we could have done something better or do we move forward and make today count. We can not change the past, but we can change today.

David also realized how easy it is to get caught up in material things and neglect our most important purpose in life. “Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish. I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it. Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand. When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.” - Psalm 39:6-11. David's prayer points out that once he realized that he let some material things take place of God he no longer wanted to take the rest of his life for granted, but put all his hope in God. What a revelation! I remember times in my life when I was struggling with the same thoughts David had. There is no better way to live life than to live it for God. He alone takes every pain, every struggle and makes it easier to handle. I know I am a much better person now than I was when I was living in the world. I may not have as many material things as I use to, but I have so much more, I have God in my life and He blesses me more and more each day.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
W
e confess that in the process of being molded and fashioned into Your likeness we are often unyielding and struggle in the process of following Your will.  At various times You place people in our lives that stretch and challenge us, but You know our hearts and will never forsake us. Thank You for being patient and waiting for us to yield ourselves to You and for loving us so much that You want us to serve You. It truly is a honor to do your Work. Remind us that we need to move forward and stop struggling with things that try and stop us from fulfilling Your Will. In Jesus' Name.........Amen.

Have a wonderful and Blessed day/night.
God Bless,

Christina
