Hello
My Friend/Guest,
“This
know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men
shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady,
highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;..But
continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been
assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And
that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able
to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ
Jesus.”
- II Timothy 3:1-4,14,15.
The second a person asks Jesus
Christ to save them they are born again, meaning the Spirit of God
enters the soul, becoming alive with the Spirit of God in it. A
newborn soul is just like a newborn baby, it requires love and
nurturing from their parents in order to grow up big and strong. Our
spiritual Father is none other than God Himself, just like any
parent, love and nurturing requires lessons, experience, commands,
affection, correction, and even chastisement. “For
whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he
receiveth. If
ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son
is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without
chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and
not sons.”
- Hebrews 12:6-8.
Okay,
I will say it again, disobedience to God does not make a person loose
their salvation, just like a child that is born to one set of parents
for life, those who are saved are born again to God for life.
However, that does not mean that a person living a wicked life can do
so and not receive chastening from God. The world is only going to
get worse, but we can be ready for it. We learn more about this
through Jeremiah. God instructs him to speak to the Gentile nations
and remnant of Israel concerning their walking away from Him.
“The
LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the
multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their
kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him: And
I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and
into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of
his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of
old, saith the LORD. But
fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel:
for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the
land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and
at ease, and none shall make him afraid. Fear thou not, O Jacob my
servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full
end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not
make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not
leave thee wholly unpunished.”
- Jeremiah 46:25-28.
While God did promise to save them from
the destruction that will take place when Jesus returns, He did not
promise that He would not chastise them for living wicked, sinful
lives until the day Jesus returns or He takes them to heaven. We will
face the consequences for our sins, there is no hiding or escaping
God's chastisement, He knows and sees all and He will find us.
However, He is willing to forgive and even repent before the humble
heart, yes, you can change God's mind when you honestly,
wholeheartedly repent, change your mind. “For
the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning
his servants.”
- Psalm 135:14.
The condemnation of God was upon all the
heathen nations that had fought against the people of God, the
chastisement of God was on all His people who would not repent.
Jeremiah continues speaking the words that God wanted the people to
hear, this time God had something to say to the godly nations that
turned from God.
“Flee,
save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness. For
because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou
shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with
his priests and his princes together. And the spoiler shall come upon
every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish,
and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken. Give wings
unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof
shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein. Cursed be he that
doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth
back his sword from blood.”
- Jeremiah 48:6-10.
God has all armies at His command, He
will in His own time plead the cause of His people against a people
that have always been deceitful to them and rebellious toward Him,
and will punish them until there is nothing left of them. This is not
cruelty, this is God getting people to fear Him, not be afraid of
Him, but have respect for Him. Just like a child learns to fear their
parents by their chastening, we learn to fear God by His chastening.
“Now
no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:
nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of
righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby...Wherefore we
receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby
we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:”
- Hebrews 12:22,28.
It is time for backsliders to grow up, if
God can repent of sending a lost soul to hell the second a person
calls on Jesus to save them, a backslidden Christian can repent,
remembering that they are a saved soul, born again and set free from
hell all because Jesus Christ died for you. “But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by
his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we
were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much
more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”
- Romans 5:8-10. Praise God!
Today's
Prayer:
Dear
God,
Lord, as I humbly receive the Word planted in me through Your
Holy Spirit I grow a little each day. Help me to get rid of anything
that stimulates my old way of thinking. Help me to reject that which
is detrimental to my spiritual growth and help me to embrace that
which saves me from the evil that is so custom in our world. Keep my
heart soft and my eyes open so I am quick to confess and repent of
that which dishonors You. I love You, Lord and ask these things in
Jesus name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for
you,
Christina
