He Is Always Near
Hello

God
is so wonderful that even under the most unusual and trying
circumstances He reveals His presence as well as the hope of better
things to come. At times though, it may seem like He is not around,
especially during the trying times, but the fact is, that is when He
is around the most. One of my favorite poems is Footprints in The
Sand, “.........The times when you see only one set of footprints
in the sand is when I was carrying you” Praise God that He is
always with us, regardless of how hopeless a situation looks He is
carrying us to safety. A great example of this can be found with the
story of Moses, as we begin reading through the Book of Exodus let me
explain a little about it's origin, the Book of Exodus is the 2nd
book of the Old Testament and Bible, it was written by Moses and
directed to the people of Israel in order to record their deliverance
from slavery to the Egyptians, to document their forty year journey
with God in the wilderness, and to document their purpose for
existence as a nation. What we as Christian's are to learn from the
book is that the animal blood sacrifices made for salvation were only
temporal until the one and only true source of Salvation came, and
that was the Lamb of God, none other than Jesus Christ.
After
Joseph died, a new Pharaoh was appointed ruler over Egypt and he had
no idea who Joseph was, but feared the Israelite's because of their
number and power, he was determined to put an end to the Israelite's
who were slaves to Egypt. “Now
there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he
said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel
are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them;
lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out
any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and
so get them up out of the land........And the king of Egypt spake to
the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and
the name of the other Puah: And he said, When ye do the office of a
midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a
son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall
live. But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt
commanded them, but saved the men children alive.”
- Exodus 1:8-10,15-17. When the midwives would not give in to
Pharaoh's order to kill all the male Hebrew babies, he forced them to
cast the male babies into the water. “Therefore
God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and
waxed very mighty. And it came to pass, because the midwives feared
God, that he made them houses. And Pharaoh charged all his people,
saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and
every daughter ye shall save alive.”
- Exodus 1:20-22. Out of all the religions in the world, including
evolution, it is a known fact that Christian's are one of the most
feared and hated people. Why? Because they know that we represent
truth and His name is Jesus Christ. Satan will stop at nothing to get
the world to put an end to Christianity, but he will never prevail
because God is more powerful than he will ever be. His manipulation
will only go so far, he may try to prolong things by getting people
to believe his lies, but he knows his dying day will come.
The
Pharaoh really thought that he had everything under his control, but
the fact was that God was in control and will use any situation to
His advantage. Such as the case with Moses, when he was born he was
to be cast into the river, but his mother knew that he was a special
child that needed to live, so she came up with a plan to save the
child. “And
there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of
Levi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him
that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. And when she
could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and
daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and
she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. And his sister stood
afar off, to wit what would be done to him. And the daughter of
Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens
walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the
flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. And when she had opened it, she
saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on
him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children. Then said his
sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of
the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? And
Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the
child's mother. And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child
away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the
women took the child, and nursed it.”
- Exodus 2:1-9. What an amazing God we have, God not only saved this
child, but allowed his biological mother to get paid for nursing her
own baby. When situations seem hopeless, it is more than comforting
to remember that our God cares about us and knows how to deliver us
from our afflictions.
It may have appeared that God had
forsaken His people, but, centuries earlier, God had foretold their
slavery to Abraham, saying that they would serve a strange country
for four hundred years and afterward come out with a great substance
(See Genesis chapters 15). Some Christian's are unwilling to worship
God because they assume He has forgotten them in their trial and
left them in misery. “And
we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the
full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but
followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the
promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could
swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I
will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after
he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”
- Hebrews 6:11-15. When we are suffering hardships, we should not
lose sight of the God of Abraham and Moses. When impossible
situations develop, we need to put our trust in Him to fulfill His
promises. Praise God!
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and
week.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
