Today's
Message:
He Knows
Our Heavenly Father is in control all the time of all events and
happenings, He knows our needs and will always bless us with them,
even if we are ungrateful or doubtful at times.
All
one has to do is take a look around the world today and see that
people are lost and searching for some form of hope in the midst of
their suffering, they continue day in and day out in agony, putting
their trust in man instead of God. It's sad that even the majority of
Christians seek help from man rather than God. Even His disciples,
had some doubts. “In those days the
multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called
his disciples unto him, and saith unto them, I have compassion on the
multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have
nothing to eat: And if I send them away fasting to their own houses,
they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far. And his
disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with
bread here in the wilderness?” - Mark 8:1-4. The
disciples forgot what Jesus had said and done in the past for their
doubts came through in questioning Jesus' ability to do what He did
before. Human nature causes us to forget things quickly, but we can
never underestimate the power of Jesus. Watch how He feeds four
thousand with just seven loaves of bread and a few small fish. “And
he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven. And
he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the
seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples
to set before them; and they did set them before the people. And they
had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them
also before them. So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up
of the broken meat that was left seven baskets. And they that had
eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.” -
Mark 8:5-9. Jesus asked the
Father to bless the food. The Father blessed the bread and as Jesus
break the bread, the bread and fishes expanded by God's blessing to
where the entire crowd was satisfied. The feeding of this crowd was
no problem for God, remember back in the wilderness, God provided the
daily diet for the Israelite's, several million of them, for forty
years. God fed them with manna from heaven, which is to say, angels'
food.
There was a certain bad spirit that the disciple had
never come up against before. The nine disciples that were left
behind when Jesus went up on the mount transfiguration tried to expel
this unclean spirit, and they could not. They tried in the name of
the Lord, but this spirit would not come out. “And
one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto
thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And
wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and
gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy
disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. He
answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be
with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. And they
brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit
tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. And he
asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he
said, Of a child. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and
into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have
compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst
believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” -
Mark 9:17-23. Jesus is asking His own disciples where is their
faith. I am not going to be here with you for long, so you need to
understand what I am teaching. When
any teacher is teaching a group of his students, and the material has
been covered many times, the teacher expects the student to remember
what was taught. When they forget, it is a disappointment to the
teacher. The teacher is grading himself by the actions of the
student, and how well the student has received the information.
That's why Jesus was a little disgusted with His disciples.
Jesus
turns to the the boys father, this man is saying, “if thou canst do
anything” to Jesus. Have you ever asked God a favor in your prayers
like this? God, if you can heal mom? If you can get me a job? If you
can help me in school? If, if, and if has only one answer, "NO",
for it shows doubt. God is the creator of all things, and He controls
all things that happen. What you are praying with any doubt you are
presenting yourself as ignorant of His Word, right before Him. Jesus
is telling this man, if you put a little faith in your prayer, all
things are possible before the Father. “And
straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears,
Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. When
Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul
spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee,
come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried,
and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead;
insomuch that many said, He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand,
and lifted him up; and he arose. And when he was come into the house,
his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? And
he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer
and fasting.” - Mark 9:24-26. Very much is promised to our
believing. Those that complain of unbelief, must look up to Christ
for grace to help them against it, and His grace will be sufficient
for them. Satan knows that we have the power to overcome all our pain
and suffering and that power comes only from the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Why do you think he attacks us so much? Instead of seeking help from
others first, seek Jesus, talk to Him, spend time with Him, He will
show you what is needed and send you the help you need, you just have
to believe in Him. Jesus told His disciples that the only way certain
things can be handled or cured is by prayer and fasting. Prayer and
fasting is using all of our ability to seek God to help us, it is
spending much more time with Him than we usually do. It is telling
Him that He is more valuable than any possession we have, even food.
Taking that extra time with God is sometimes needed as it not only
show Him that we need Him, it also gets us to realize that We Can Do
Nothing Without Him and that All Things Are Possible When We Believe.
Have a
wonderful and blessed day/night and weekend. WooHoo TGIF!
God
Bless You,
Christina
