Hello
My Friend/Guest,
“He
that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three
witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be
thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath
counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an
unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we
know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will
recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his
people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living
God...For
ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God,
ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that
shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by
faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in
him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them
that believe to the saving of the soul.”
- Hebrews 10:28-31,36-39.
Probably one of the toughest things
to overcome as a Christian is waiting on God, sometimes it takes
years for God to answer a prayer, but the amazing thing is that while
we wait for that one thing we not only grow closer to Him we receive
many more blessings in the meantime. Many times the reason why it
takes so long to see a prayer answered is that something is hindering
us from God granting them. Perhaps a secret sin, anger, bitterness,
or something from the past keeps showing back up, or something or
someone you just can not let go of keeps resurfacing. Regardless of
what is hindering our blessings, we have to give it over to God. The
keys to seeing and receiving what God promises is complete and utter
faith, total dependance upon God, never giving up on Him, and doing
the will of God.
Believe it or not, much of the destruction
taking place today in the world is a blessing from God. If you are
saved, you have nothing to worry about because your home will be in
heaven when the really bad things start to happen. It is unfortunate
that God has to use such drastic measures as war, famine,
earthquakes, and raging storms to get people's attention, but that is
the case and always has been. The last several chapters of Jeremiah
foretell the destruction of the Gentile nations surrounding Israel as
well as those who still possessed much of the land promised given to
the Jews. Jeremiah sends messages to several nations, including
Ammon.
“Concerning
the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no
heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in
his cities? Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I
will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites;
and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned
with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs,
saith the LORD. Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters
of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the
hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and
his princes together. Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy
flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her
treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me? Behold, I will bring a
fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be
about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and
none shall gather up him that wandereth. And
afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon,
saith the LORD.”
- Jeremiah 49:1-6.
The
Ammonites are kin to the Moabites, for they had the same father, who
was Lot, the nephew of Abraham. God had given that country of Gilead
to Manasseh, Reuben, and Gad, but the Ammonites had taken it and
still possessed it. I
am sure if the Ammonites were willing to obey God He would have
welcomed them in the land, but they took complete possession of it,
set up their idol in it, and offered sacrifices to it, which must
have been very offensive to the God of Israel. “For
this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous
man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of
Christ and of God. Let
no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things
cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye
therefore partakers with them.”
- Ephesians 3:5-7.
Believe
it or not, blessings are often hindered because a person is not
saved. God will not even listen to a prayer unless it is coming from
a saved person or one that is asking Jesus to save them. While God
accepts anyone who comes to Him, they must have an open and tender
heart to receive His Son into their lives. “He
that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God.”
- John 3:18.
Now we learn of the judgment foretold upon
Babylon, the invincible, powerful nation that destroyed Jerusalem,
the walls that surrounding it were eighty feet wide and three hundred
feet high. In spite of its magnificent splendor Jeremiah reminded
them that that God is more powerful and they too will be destroyed.
Along with the warning to Babylon comes a promise to the Jews.
“In
those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel
shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and
weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. They shall ask
the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let
us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not
be forgotten. My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have
caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the
mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten
their restingplace...For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up
against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country:
and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she
shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none
shall return in vain.”
- Jeremiah 50:4-6,9.
One way or another every saved person
who has backslidden finds their way back to God. God, in His loving
grace patiently waits for the day His child comes to Him and says, “I
am ready to return to You.” Blessings from God come by more than
being obedient to Him, they come by having faith in Him, by
repentance, and by waiting. “Cast
not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of
reward. For
ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God,
ye might receive the promise.”
- Hebrews 10:35,36.
Today's
Prayer:
Dear
God,
Lord, I know that if I ask You anything believing that I will
receive it. I also know that I am custom to want it right now. God,
You bless me every day, but sometimes I can not see the blessings
amidst my desires. Help me to wait patiently for everything that I am
asking for. Give me Your power to overcome all the temptations and
tricks from the devil trying to hinder me from trusting in You. Help
me to get rid of any hindrances that I do have that may be stopping
the blessings in the first place. I love You, Lord and ask this in
Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for
you,
Christina
