Today's
Message: Justice is Served
The
world says “I will get even” but the Christian knows that
vengeance belongs only to the One True King, The Lord Jesus Christ.
He alone will see that justice is served.
America is said to
be the land of the free, but lately it seems Christians are not apart
of the “free”, we are often persecuted, mocked, maimed, and
sometimes it seems there is no merit in being a Christian, this is
even more true in many other countries. However, no matter what
obstacle, trial, or suffering we face nothing can replace the
relationship we have with our true King, Jesus Christ. He is with us
and will not forsake us, and today we will see proof that Christian's
can prevail and make a difference in the world.
The wicked
Haman appeared to be invincible and his decree to execute all the
Jews seemed final. The law had been made and approved by the king of
Persia, Ahasuerus, and under the law of the Medes and Persians a
decree could not have been altered, even by the king himself.
However, all that was about to change after Haman had been executed.
“On
that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews'
enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for
Esther had told what he was unto her. And the king took off his ring,
which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther
set Mordecai over the house of Haman. And Esther spake yet again
before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with
tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device
that he had devised against the Jews...........Then the king
Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold,
I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon
the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews. Write ye also
for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with
the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name,
and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.”
- Esther 8:1-3,7,8. King Ahasuerus, not only saved the Jews, but gave
Esther control of it. What a wonderful change of events, instead of
the Jews fearing for their lives they can now rejoice knowing that
their lives are not threatened.
Before Haman's execution he
had his astrologers cast
Pur
meaning, they
had cast stones or other objects as a means of divination to
determine the most favorable time for the execution of all the Jews.
Haman's "lucky day" fell on the thirteenth day of the last
month, Adar. “Now
in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day
of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to
be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to
have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the
Jews had rule over them that hated them;) The Jews gathered
themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of
the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no
man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all
people.…........Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite,
the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy
them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to
destroy them; But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by
letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews,
should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be
hanged on the gallows. Wherefore they called these days Purim after
the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of
that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come
unto them, The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their
seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it
should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to
their writing, and according to their appointed time every year; “-
Esther 9:1,2, 24-27. The fixed day of execution, which came to be
known as Purim, was turned from death to deliverance by the
intervening providence of God. Haman did not realize that Mordecai's
God is always in control of the affairs of earth.
Esther and
Mordecai are testimonies proving that even in a nation dominated by
wicked people, God can and will protect all His children. However, He
does expect us, like Esther, to respond courageously, in faith, to
those who try to threaten, mock, or maim us. We can find peace and
enjoy a wonderful life as a Christian, we just have to be willing to
stand up to the majority and keep rejoicing that we are the minority,
the True Christian's of the world. Praise God!!!!
Today's
Psalm: 89:14
“Justice
and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall
go before thy face.”
Today's
Prayer:
Dear God,
My
hope is built on Jesus’ blood and righteousness. It is on this
solid Rock that I stand and anchor my soul until the storms of life
are passed. You uphold me by Your Spirit giving me faith that smiles
when skies are frowning, faith that is purified by my suffering. Firm
and fearless, help me to be as I walk the path designed for me. When
thorns at times will pierce me, may my faith be unwavering as I hold
to You, my King above all Kings. In Jesus' Name, I
pray.........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day and
week.
God Bless,
Christina
