Today's Message: Learn & Teach Our Children
Much of the trials and tribulation we face comes from being ignorant to God's Word, it is very important to learn & teach our children the truth so they will not have to suffer judgment years later for our ignorance.

The book of Nahum is the thirty-forth book of the Old Testament/Bible and contains three chapters. The author of the book is Nahum and it was written to t
he city of Nineveh. The purpose of the book was to warn them of the coming judgment on Nineveh, the capitol of the Assyrian empire which took God's people into captivity. What we are to learn from the book is that we need to be aware that God avenges all evil. Nahum prophesied during the reign of Hezekiah, about 150 years had passed since the great revival of Jonah's day when the city of Nineveh repented in dust and ashes. They had come to know the One True God through Jonah's preaching. However, the people failed to teach their children about their Salvation through the One and Only True God and now they are facing judgment as they returned to their idolatrous and sinful ways. The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet............Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.” - Nahum 1:1-3,6-8. What God is saying here is that He will not spare any nation or person that continues to live wickedly, knowing who He is. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is slow to wrath and ready to forgive, but He will by no means acquit the wicked, therefore there will be tribulation and anguish for every soul that does evil. We can not cease from learning and teaching the truth to our children.

Many will read these verses and question how God can be so loving when it says He is jealous and seeks vengeance, the word jealous from God's point of view means that He is intolerant of ones disloyalty or infidelity. He is not speaking about those whom just do not know who He is, He is speaking to those whom know who He is and refuse to turn from their wicked ways. He knows each and every one of us who are true, who think they are true, and who completely ignore or hide from Him and each person will receive rewards or punishment accordingly. It was evident in Jonah's day that God will forgive sin when anyone repents and the Lord always forgives even the most sinful who truly repent and receive Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives. Assyria is thought to have become the most brutal of all the ancient nations, and its capital Nineveh had greatly enriched itself by horrifying wars. Through Nahum, God warned the people, “Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not; ............There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts. ” - Nahum 3:1,15. All this cam to pass exactly as Nahum had foretold. The wicked city was destroyed by the armies of the Medes in the north and the Babylonians in the south, and it passed into oblivion. At the time Nahum prophesied, Nineveh was the capital of the mighty Assyrian empire which ruled the world for about 500 years. But Nahum boldly proclaimed its demise as the sovereign God over all nations foretold. Today, Nineveh, the once-mighty city, is still laid in waste as a witness to the accuracy of the Word of God.

The book of Habakkuk is the thirty-fifth book of the Old Testament/Bible and contains three chapters. The author of the book was Habakkuk and it was written to the people of Judah. The purpose of the book was to Awaken Judah to their spiritual needs and warn of impending judgment from God. What we are to learn from the book is that the just shall live by faith alone. Habakkuk prophesied in the latter years of Josiah, he was more concerned with the holiness of God than Israel's escape from chastisement. “The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see. O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save! Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention. Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth. Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you. For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.” - Habakkuk 1:1-6. Habakkuk expresses the attitude that many righteous people have. He is outraged at the violence and injustice in his society. He lists six different problems. His list is repetitious, but it emphasizes just how bad things were. There was sin, wickedness, destruction and violence, no justice in the courts, and the wicked outnumbered the righteous. However, God is telling us that no wickedness will go unpunished, we may not see things happening, but He is watching and listening to everything that is going on. He also assures us that no matter what we are going through or how long it seems to take to receive an answer He is at work and will bring all to pass. He is going to do something so marvelous that we as Christian's will find it hard to understand and believe.

Since we do not know all the facts, in the midst of our numerous, perplexing injustices, where too often evil seems to triumph, we should not express doubt in the One and Only True God. He is just as uncompromising toward sin today as He was then. Yet He always forgives even the most sinful person who truly repents and turns to and receives Christ as Savior and Lord of his life. All mankind will one day realize that the justice and mercy of God is He love toward all.

Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and weekend.
God Bless You,
Christina
