Today's
Message: No Easy Road
No one said
it would be easy following a Christian lifestyle, but just knowing
that we are struggling has to make one think, “I must me doing
something right?”. Well, we are doing something right, we just have
to keep reminding ourselves that no road to success is an easy one.
God reveals the blessings that He instills upon all who seek
and obey Him. “God be merciful unto us, and
bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way
may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the
people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let the
nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people
righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Let the people
praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the
earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.”
- Psalm 67. God gives us all the instructions we need to have blessed
filled life and I am not talking about just the normal everyday
things we are blessed with on a daily basis. I am talking about God
blessing us with all our needs and desires. The problem is that often
our desires do not meet up with what God desires for us. Do you think
that He is going to allow us to receive things that are against His
Word? He wants to bless us abundantly, but we must be willing to fear
(give our all to) Him.
We are reminded to rejoice and sing
praises to God as we are blessed with the gift of His Word and
salvation. “But let the righteous be glad;
let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. Sing
unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the
heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. A father of the
fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are
bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. O God,
when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march
through the wilderness; Selah:.........The Lord gave the word: great
was the company of those that published it...............Thou hast
ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received
gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might
dwell among them. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with
benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. He that is our God is
the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from
death.”- Psalm 68:3-8,11,18-20. Anyone who is righteous,
meaning truly following God wholeheartedly, will rejoice in His name.
Wholeheartedly means learning and obeying all of God's Word, not just
what we want to believe. JAH is
short for the Name of Jehovah (Yahweh), which is another name for
God. God will bless us abundantly, but we must be willing to follow
Him wholeheartedly.
God gave us His Word by using forty men
being lead by the Holy Spirit. How do we know that they were all
inspired by God? We know this because out of the 40,000 and counting
manuscripts found they all tell the exact same story, intact. We need
to face the facts, God's Word is true and can not change, no matter
how many versions of the Bible they try to create hiding His True
Word. We can not just choose which part of the Bible we want to
follow, we have to follow all of it. “All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works.” - II Timothy 3:16,17. All
Scripture is given to teach us, correct us, and show us how we can be
the best we can be. I can understand that some parts of the Bible
seem a little overwhelming, but if we do not read the whole story how
are we to know how it all came about. There is a meaning and purpose
for every thing that happens in our lives, whether it is good or bad,
they are all blessings.
Incidentally, do you think that you
made the decision all on your own to follow God? Think again, yes,
God does give you free will to choose, but He also chose you before
you even knew it. Jesus said: “Henceforth I
call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord
doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have
heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me,
but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring
forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye
shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” -
John 15:15,16.
The road to Christ is not an easy one to say
the least, but think about it for a minute, do you honestly believe
that things you did in the past (before God) have any merit, other
than making you feel either worse about yourself for doing something
that was morally wrong? If we did not have God in our lives, it would
be even worse by now. I certainly do not want to think how my life
would be right now, even three years ago, if I did not make that
decision to follow God wholeheartedly. We can make a difference and
we will receive the many blessings that God has in store for us, but
in order for that to happen, we must not give up and seek God in all
that we do.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, I
want my spirit to be receptive of the seed You sow in my life as I
read and apply Your Scriptural truths. I do not want to be like a
barren wasteland or a patch of weeds, but want my heart to be like
the rich, fertile soil that produces fruit; a hundred, sixty or
thirty times what was sown. Holy Spirit, stir up my passion for
reading all of God's Word, as I read it and discern it help me to be
fruitful by applying all of it to my life. In Jesus'
Name............Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night
and week.
God Bless,
Christina
