Today's
Message:
Nothing
Will Ever Change
It
is time to take a serious look at what you are doing in your life, if
one thing hinders your relationship with Christ, nothing will ever
change.
The book of Revelation is the 27th
and final book of the New Testament, 66th
book of the Bible and contains 22 chapters. The author of the book is
the Apostle John and it was written to the Seven churches in Asia and
to all believers in general. The purpose of the book was to reveal
God's plan for the world. What we are to learn from the book is that
in the end, good is always victorious over evil and God always
accomplishes His established plan, promise, and purpose.
The
seven churches of Asia Minor each received a letter dictated by
Christ and recorded by the Apostle John while he was on the island of
Patmos. The Book of Revelation is the only Book of the Bible
specifically promising a blessing for all who read it in obedience to
its commands. “John
to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and
peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and
from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus
Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the
dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved
us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us
kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and
dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and
every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all
kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which
is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. I John, who
also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the
kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called
Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
- Revelation 1:4-9. Since the character and conduct of churches and
Christians is similar in every generation, the messages are just as
vital and valid for us today. Jesus Himself spoke these words to
John, reminding us that even before the world began He was and is
still the same today. The Father is first named, He is described as
from Him which is, which was, and which is to come, He is eternal,
unchangeable. The Holy Spirit is called the seven spirits, the
perfect Spirit of God, in whom there is a diversity of gifts and
operations. The Lord Jesus Christ was from eternity, a Witness to all
the counsels of God. He is the First-born from the dead, meaning by
His own power raise up His people. He is the Prince of the kings of
the earth; by him their counsels are overruled, and to him they are
accountable. Sin leaves a stain of guilt and pollution upon the soul.
Nothing can fetch out this stain, but the blood of Christ and Christ
shed His own blood to satisfy Divine justice, and purchase pardon and
purity for His people.
Words of praise were given to the
church at Ephesus for its sound doctrine. However, Christ reminded
them that even though they were believers they left their first love,
Him. “Unto
the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that
holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst
of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour,
and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil:
and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not,
and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for
my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I
have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do
the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will
remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”
- Revelation 2:1-5. Jesus knows that because we have this flesh we
are going to get lax sometimes and some of us will even fall
completely away from Him, but He does not condone nor accept
ignorance. You either live your life for Him or you don not, it's up
to you, but mix it all together and there will be consequences.
However, He will forgive all who repent and are sincere. Are things
not going the way you would like them to? Are you questioning God
because you are struggling and have not idea why? Seriously stop and
think about the things you are doing, even the things in your mind.
Do they line up with Christ? Would Jesus do the things that you are
doing or thinking right now? We must not forget that Jesus has the
same temptations, grief, struggles that we do, only more severe and
He had every ability to sin just as you and I, but He chose not to.
Oh, He got angry and confronted those who claimed to know God, but He
did not sin. We too can overcome everyone of our struggles without
sin.
It is of great importance that we make sure before we do
anything that Christ is at the center of our lives. Praise God, that
He is a forgiving God and once we repent we are released from any
wrong doing. Many people fear the book of Revelation because they
think of it as the end of the world. However, it is only the
beginning for believers, we will overcome all things because we have
the best protection right with us daily and that is the Lord, Jesus
Christ. Seek Him and we have nothing to fear.
Have a
wonderful and blessed day/night and Merry Christmas.
God
Bless You,
Christina
