Hello My Friend/Guest,

Today is Saturday January 02, 2010 and we are reading through the Bible in a year. Today's message comes from the reading of the book of Genesis, chapters 4-6. It truly is amazing that out of the billions of people in the world, only a fraction of them will believe in God and live the way He intended for all of mankind to live. Yet, the more I read the Bible the clearer that fact becomes, even Adam and Eve had children that did not live for God. “
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.” - Genesis 4:1-8. You would think that since Cain was the first born of God's first creation that he would want to honor God and put Him first in his life? However, that was not the case and the reason why God did not respect his offering. Of course Cain wanted Gods recognition, but he was not willing to make an effort to show that and the result was pure jealousy, which led Cain to murdering his own brother. The truth is this, God will not respect anyone's offering if they are not truly living their lives for Him. How can we expect blessings from God when we do not even make an effort to change our sinful ways?

Now, Cain had distanced himself from God all together because of the shame and guilt of killing his brother as well as the punishment that God had gave him for killing his brother. “
And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.” - Genesis 4:16,17. This begins the genealogy of what is known as the sons of man. The genealogy of the sons of God however, continued through Adam and Eve's third son Seth. “This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:” - Genesis 5:1-4. Seth is the seed that became the lineage of Jesus Christ.

Now, when the children of God mixed with the children of man everything just got turned upside down. At first, God could not find one person living for Him and was about to take out the entire earth. “
And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth...........And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.” - Genesis 6:6-10,17-19. However, even God repents of Himself, and when He saw that Noah and his family did live their lives for Him He decided to save them and re-establish His covenant with them.

When I first began reading the Bible I could not understand how God says we were born into sin, I have never had children and when my mother had my brothers I was too young to even know what sin was to realize that I was a sinner. However, serving in the nursery at my church as well as having had the experience of taking care of a baby since he was just three days old (he is now eighteen months) I have learned for a fact that no one has to teach us to commit sin, we do it all on our own (the normal get your way type sins). However, although we are born with a sin nature, that does not excuse us from sins that we knowingly commit and suffering the consequences of it. The physical, mental, and spiritual consequences of sin are astounding and are eternally irreversible with one and only one exception, the blood of Christ. In Noah's days they did not have the blood of Christ to save them from their sins and to keep them from being destroyed. Can you imagine, only eight people in the entire world lived their lives for God the way they were supposed to? Just imagine how many people will in fact be saved from the earths total destruction? Praise God that we whom have accepted Christ as our Savior will be safe and sound and joining Noah and his family in heaven.

Enjoy the rest of your day/night,
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
