Today's Message: Our Counselor
Jesus alone is the wonderful Counselor and the Revealer of all Truth for He is Truth. He tells us what is right through His Word which we, as disciples, are to share.

The prophet Isaiah foretold the judgment of God against the kingdom of Judah for the people's sins. Ahaz, king of Judah, was facing war. God sent Isaiah to him for assurance, And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind. Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field; And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.” - Isaiah 7:1-4. As Christian's we face a spiritual war everyday, but we too need not fear because we have assurance from our Lord that we will prevail.

Through Isaiah God asked Ahaz to ask for a sign of the Lord, since his father and grandfather were basically godly men, Ahaz was aware of the power and presence of God, but Ahaz refused. However an amazing prophecy was revealed, “Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” - Isaiah 7:10-14. Isaiah spoke a glorious prophecy of the true King of kings who was yet to come. The sign Isaiah offered was the declaration of a special Child, Immanuel, Whom we all know as the Lord, Jesus Christ. Seven hundred years later, the Angel Gabriel confirmed to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive a child of the Holy Ghost. “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” - Luke 1:35.

In fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy, Jesus, the Son of God, was born. To reject the virgin birth and question either the deity or the humanity of Jesus of Nazareth is to miss the significance that Jesus was both Holy God and sinless Man. Because of this, He alone could atone for the sins of mankind and redeem what Adam had forfeited. Isaiah also received another glorious revelation of the eternal King of kings of whom he foretold, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” - Isaiah 9:6,7. We recognize the fulfillment of that prophecy in Jesus, who was born of the virgin and later crucified, providing eternal life to all believers by dying on the cross for our sins, and by His triumph over death. Not only was His first advent declared, but also His second. We can rejoice as we look forward to the time when He will reign in righteousness on earth as the most Wonderful, Counseller.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord,

We give thanks to You that we can walk in victory because of Your Son Jesus Christ.  Once we were held captive by sin and its enslavement, but we have been set free through the redemptive work of Jesus and His glorious resurrection. Each day brings new challenges, but we overcome them through the blood of the Lamb. Help us to stand firm in our faith and immovable in Your truths, as we daily serve You.  We are encouraged to know that nothing we do for You is in vain though we may not see immediate results. Keep us obedient and trusting in you in all that we do. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.

Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless You,
Christina

P.S. I apologize for this message being sent out late, I've not been feeling well the last couple of days. Praise God that I am starting to feel better now.
