Hello
My Friend/Guest,
“Be
it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man
is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And
by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye
could not be justified by the law of Moses...But
when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and
spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting
and blaspheming. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was
necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you:
but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath the Lord
commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles,
that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And
when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word
of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.”
- Acts 13:38,39,45-48.
It was important that the Gospel first
be preached to the Jews, after all, they were chosen by Him first to
represent Him. However, it was their rejection of Christ that was
needed for the Gospel to go beyond the Jews.
We
must beware of religions that teach that they are justified by their
religion or race, being Jewish does not save us, being a Baptist does
not save us, being a Catholic does not save us, being an Atheist does
not save us. Regardless of our race, background, or religion, we are
not saved from hell because we choose a particular religion or came
from a particular race, we are saved when we believe in and accept
the Gospel, the death, the burial, and resurrection of Christ and ask
Jesus to save us. “That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.”
- Romans 10:9.
Jesus chose twelve men as His disciples while
He was here on earthly, He instructed them to go out into the Jewish
nation and preach the Gospel. “And
when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power
against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of
sickness and all manner of disease. Now
the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is
called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and
John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the
publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was
Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed
him. These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go
not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans
enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
- Matthew 10:1-7.
The disciples were to present the Gospel to
everyone they saw, they were instructed to just bring themselves to
the door and offer only the Gospel to them. He advised them that some
will accept them and the Gospel, while others will not, just shake it
off, do not take it personally, and understand that it was God who
was working through them. God is with all who are saved through the
Holy Spirit, He is their guide to serving Him without fear. “For
the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open
unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do
evil. And
who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is
good? But
and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not
afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord
God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every
man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness
and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of
you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your
good conversation in Christ.”
- I Peter 3:12-16.
Christ looking up to heaven, with
thanksgiving to His Father for the sovereignty and security of the
covenant of redemption, prays for the children of men. “At
that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of
heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise
and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for
so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of
my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither
knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the
Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of
me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto
your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
- Matthew 11:25-30.
Jesus invites all who have burdens on
their hearts, those who are working so hard to get things done, but
not getting anywhere, and those who are just tired. He wants to give
you rest, but in order for you to get it you must go to Him. Talk to
Him, pray to Him, seek forgiveness, tell Him that you believe in Him,
He is knocking on the door of your heart waiting for you to answer.
“Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open
the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with
me.”
- Revelation 3:20.
Today's
Prayer:
Dear
God,
Lord, You
know the very intention of all that I say and do. As I invite You to
examine my heart, I lay before You the people and pursuits that try
to drive me further away from You. You have not removed me bodily
from this world, but You have raised me up spiritually to abide in
Your presence even as I carry out my daily duties. As Your presence
graciously overshadows me it is there that Your love and faithfulness
sustains me and gives me the strength to endure all my tribulation. I
love You Lord and pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
