Today's Message: Put
to The Test
As Christian's we are constantly being put to
the test, if it is not God test our faith it is Satan testing our
faith in God.
We expect judgment upon the ungodly, or upon
the backslider, but many Christian's do not understand why sincere
believers experience so many critical situations. The prophet Isaiah
encourages us to remain faithful to God, regardless of the
circumstances, even though we cannot understand why we face so many
difficulties. “Thus saith the LORD, In an
acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I
helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant
of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the
desolate heritages; That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth;
to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the
ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. They shall not
hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he
that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water
shall he guide them.” - Isaiah 49:8-10. God will bring light
out of the darkness and make sure that every one of His children are
provided with the things they are in need of.
The
circumstances we face may come for one of many reasons, correction
and instruction are two of them, but the main reason we face so many
circumstances is to keep our relationship right with Him. Without the
Word of God we would never know the best life we could have. “All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works.”-II Timothy 3:16,17. Sadly,
it took me twenty years to begin to read God's Word fully and as the
old saying goes, “I wish I had known then what I know now” comes
to mind. However, God used each circumstance that I faced for many
reasons, he has definitely corrected me and taught me a thing or two,
I suffered for stupid mistakes that I had made, which I truly
deserved, but after all that He still forgave me and accepted me as
one of His own. I am living proof that He still makes miracles happen
just as He did in the Bible and now I am fortunate to study and teach
His Word so that no one has to suffer the way I did, simply because I
did not know the truth.
God will bring blessings out of
suffering and triumph out of tragedy for every child of God,
heartbreaking experiences are a test of our faith, as well as a means
of our developing greater faith. Each of us can expect testing from
the Lord, as well as temptation from the forces of evil, so do not be
discouraged if one day your whole world crumbles and it seems the
Lord has abandoned you. Instead be hopeful knowing that God is with
you and will help you. “Behold, the Lord GOD
will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax
old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up. Who is among you that
feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh
in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the
LORD, and stay upon his God.” - Isaiah 50:9,10. We are to
rejoice through our suffering, “Beloved,
think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch
as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory
shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”
- I Peter 4:12,13.
Those who are faithful followers of Christ
will constantly be put to the test, Jesus warns us that all who
follow Him will suffer because the world hates Him, therefore they
will hate us as well. “If the world hate you,
ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the
world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the
world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world
hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is
not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also
persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours
also.” - John 15:18-20. However, we can prevail, “Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast
in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in
your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who
hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye
have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle
you.” - I Peter 5:8-10.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, I can not thank You
enough for Your Son, Jesus Christ. He truly is the Rock for which I
stand on and if not for Him I would surely be still sinking in sand.
Although I may not understand all the circumstances I face, I know
that You have a purpose for each and every one of them. I will gladly
suffer for a little while with You in my life knowing that it will
come to pass and make me a stronger, more faithful in my walk with
You rather than go another day lost and depressed in the world. Keep
me faithful to You and Your Word. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy your week.
