“This
then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you,
that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If
we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we
lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in
the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we
have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If
we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is
not in us.”
- I John 1:5-10.
Do you know what the number one reason is
that people reject Christ or I should say, choose not to follow Him?
They do not want to admit they are sinners. Think I am exaggerating?
I have a website that strictly gives the plan of salvation and
nothing more, the majority of the people that exit the site do so
when they have to admit that they are a sinner. No matter how good we
try to be we all have committed some sin in our lives, meaning we
have done something wrong over our lifetime. Whether it was telling a
little white lie or committing murder, it is all sin to God. Granted,
some sin receives a harsher punishment than others while we are here
on earth, it is all sin and that makes all of us sinners. Therefore,
we all receive the same penalty for sin, which is death and hell.
However, Jesus made a way for us to be pardoned from that penalty and
He did so by giving Himself as a sacrifice. He died for sinners and
only those who admit that they are sinners and receive Him will be
pardoned.
False religions are good at allowing sin in the
church, many people believe in God, but change His laws to justify
their sin and say that it is acceptable. They will either take Jesus
out of the picture completely or introduce Him as a mere prophet. But
guess what? God will break down every false church one way or
another. As Jesus came into Jerusalem multitudes praised Him and gave
Him a glorious arrival, His first stop, the temple of God.
“And
a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut
down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. And
the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying,
Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of
the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into
Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the
multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. And
Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold
and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the
moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto
them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer;
but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the blind and the lame came
to him in the temple; and he healed them. And when the chief priests
and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children
crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they
were sore displeased,”
- Matthew 21:8-15.
The word Hosanna means to praise God in
the highest, while the multitudes praised Jesus as God, the leaders
of the temple wanted to destroy Him. Why? They knew what they were
doing was wrong. Churches receive tithes and offerings to keep the
church going, as in pay the bills, keeping the lights on, feed the
preacher, etc., not to make a profit off of God, hence a not for
profit organization. Eventually every church that uses God to make a
profit will be destroyed and the only one that will be left will be
the true Church, where Jesus resides. “For
by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in
earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions,
or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for
him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And
he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the
preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness
dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him
to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be
things in earth, or things in heaven.”
- Colossians 1:16-20.
God does not force anyone to receive
His Son, but He never stops trying to get them to see that they need
Jesus. Some people will see the need and receive Him later in life,
others never do and are depending on what they think is right to get
them to heaven. Jesus explains this further in a parable. “But
what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first,
and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I
will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the
second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and
went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say
unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before
you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye
believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and
ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might
believe him.”
- Matthew 21:28-32.
Publicans and harlots, meaning people who
realize that they lived immoral and corruptible lives, are the first
to admit they are sinners and receive Christ with joy, doing the will
of the Father. On the other hand, people who think that their immoral
and corruptible lives is acceptable do not admit sin in their lives
and reject Christ, not doing the will if the Father. God does not
want to see anyone end up in hell, but He will send anyone there who
will not received His Son. It's not harsh or cruel, it's getting
people to fear Him, to have some respect for who He is and to realize
they are sinners. “Know
ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be
not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor
effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor
covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God...For
ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and
in your spirit, which are God's.”
- I Corinthians 6:9,10,20.
Jesus explains this further in
another parable, “The
kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage
for his son, And
sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding:
and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying,
Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my
oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto
the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to
his farm, another to his merchandise:..So those servants went out
into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found,
both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. And
when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had
not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest
thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take
him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.”
-Matthew 22:2-5,10-14.
We will all face Jesus when we die,
many have died already and many more will die until He returns, those
who do not have on the wedding garment, meaning those who have not
received Him as their Savior will be cast into outer darkness,
meaning hell. No one has to be cast into hell, all who receive Him
will be saved, but you must admit that you are a sinner and ask Him
to save you. “Know
ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his
servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of
obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the
servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of
doctrine which was delivered you...For when ye were the servants of
sin, ye were free from righteousness...But
now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have
your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages
of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord.”
- Romans 6:16,17,20,22,23.
Today's
Prayer:
Dear
God,
Lord, thank You for giving us a way to be pardoned from our
sin debt, through the death of Your Son the price was already paid
for us. Thank You for sending Jesus to save us. Now, we know that the
only way to receive that pardon is to admit that we cannot be saved
without receiving Your Son. Lord, open the hearts of those who have
not done Your will to accept and receive Your Son. Use me to show
them how much You love them too and do not want to see them in hell.
Use me as a living sacrifice to follow Your Will in my life and to
glorify You in the body that You have given me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
