Title: Bible Study: Remember
As Christians we can get so caught up in day to day life that we are prone to forget all that God has done for us. While God is a loving God and forgives all who seek forgiveness and forgets what we have done, we are never to forget what He took us out of. As Joshua was leading the Israelites into the first city of the promised land, they had to cross over the Jordan river first, as they passed over a man from each tribe was to carry over a huge stone with them. “
And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying, Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man, And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night........That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever. And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there. And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.” - Joshua 4:1-3,6-9. Each stone was a reminder of how God miraculously dried up the Jordan river so they could walk into the promised land, it symbolized their faith in God and how He saved them and lead them to victory.

Today, the stones symbolize the sinful life we once had and how God miraculously saved us from them and led us to victory. While we should be burning in hell, we are saved by the blood shed of one man and that is Jesus Christ. All who seek forgiveness and put their faith in Jesus to save them miraculously become a child of God and every sin committed is wiped away from existence. “
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; ” -Romans 3:23-25. Praise God! We should never lose sight of the mercy and grace of our Lord. Every morning I thank God for taking me out of the world, I do not go into remembrance of everything from my past, but I do keep reminding myself of how messed up my life was before I chose to live my life for Him. However, from time to time, even I forget, but God's mercy and grace keeps reminding me that He is still here and in control. We have an assurance of the compassionate love of God that allows us to mess up from time to time and still find grace in His sight. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - I John 1:9. Praise God!

Enjoy the rest of your day/night and weekend.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
