Today's
Message:
Simply
Follow The Truth
On
any given day one can run into someone who makes a reference to God
in some way, but few will agree on who they believe Him to be. It's
easier to believe and follow the laws and regulations of what man
believes God to be than simply following the truth.
Many will
agree that God created all things and that Jesus came here to save
the world, but few will agree on who He truly is. Sadly, many
churches will claim that they know who Jesus is, but they are just as
lost as the rest of the world. I have said this before and I will say
it until the day I leave earth that religion is the root to all evil.
Religion killed Jesus and it literally kills and sends thousands of
people to hell every day. Yes, none of us want to admit this fact,
but it is the truth. However, just as Jesus survived, every person
here on earth can, but they must be willing to accept the truth if
they ever want to join us in heaven.
As Paul was transferred
from one country to another in hopes that the Jews could convince one
of these leaders that he needed to die for telling people about Jesus
he never stopped professing that Jesus is the Truth, the Life, and
the Way. “But
when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other
Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a
Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the
dead I am called in question. And
when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees
and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. For the Sadducees
say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the
Pharisees confess both. And there arose a great cry: and the scribes
that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find
no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him,
let us not fight against God. And when there arose a great
dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been
pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to
take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.
And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good
cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must
thou bear witness also at Rome.” - Acts 23:6-11. Here are
these two different religious groups divided among one another over
their beliefs. Religion has nothing to do with God's Word, it's all
about using bits and pieces of it in order to create their own set of
rules and laws in how they believe God wants them to live. It was
believed to be that Paul's fate was in the hands of these men, but
little did they know that God was with him and that he was in control
of Paul's fate.
No matter where Paul went he was somehow
allowed to speak in his defense, he never stopped confessing that he
followed God and His Word and no fault was found in him by the
rulers. “But this I confess unto thee, that
after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my
fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the
prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow,
that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and
unjust. And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience
void to offence toward God, and toward men.” -24:14-16. Paul
lived by the Scriptures and it was by doing so that he knew the truth
and also relied on the hope of God to get him through every one of
the circumstances he faced. He knew who God was and he was not about
to compromise his beliefs in order to save his life, he knew that his
life would be saved because he knew who God was. The
only way to know who God truly is is to know and accept the truth
about Jesus, that He is the Only sinless, begotten Son of God, who
died on a cross and shed His blood to save all sinners, was buried in
a grave for 3 days, then arose to prove to all that God is alive and
gives eternal life to all who believe in Him.
Now, the only
way to truly know this is by reading God's Word, and I do not mean
picking out some book that says it is a bible or listening to someone
who says they know what the Bible says, but to read the true Word of
God for yourself. I would like to stress that it is of course a good
thing to talk with others and hear about the Word of God from others
who study the truth so that we can have a better understanding of His
Word, but in order to truly know that what is being said is the truth
we need to read it ourselves.
Have a wonderful and blessed
day/night
God
Bless You,
Christina
