Today's
Message: Source of Wisdom
There is only one true source
of wisdom and that comes from having a relationship with God. In
order to receive His wisdom we must wholeheartedly read and study all
of His Word.
Bildad, continues his false accusations, this
time implying that Job was an unclean worm who could not be justified
with God. “Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in
his high places. Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom
doth not his light arise? How then can man be justified with God? or
how can he be clean that is born of a woman? Behold even to the moon,
and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. How
much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?”
- Job 25:2-6. To justify means to declare one innocent, many people,
including Christian's, are quick to prove one guilty, but God already
knows the truth. God had already declared Job innocent when He said,
“there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright
man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” - Job 1:8.
After
a while, if we are not careful, we too can be convinced that we are
guilty. That is why it is very important to “Abstain
from all appearance of evil.”
- I Thessalonians 5:22. As long as we do that we are justified with
God and no matter how many people try to prove us guilty we will be
proven innocent, even if it's not proven until we join God in heaven.
Job was never as concerned about knowing the
answer to his problems as he was about having a right relationship
with God. In the midst of all the false accusations, he looked beyond
the criticisms to the Source of all true wisdom, God. “God
understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. For
he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole
heaven; To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters
by measure. When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the
lightning of the thunder: Then did he see it, and declare it; he
prepared it, yea, and searched it out. And unto man he said, Behold,
the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is
understanding.” - Job 28:23-28. Job came to the understanding
that God sees and knows everything, therefore our wisdom comes from
fearing God, which in turn helps us to know and depart from evil.
Incidentally, fearing God does not mean that we are to live in fear
of His judgment upon us, it means that we are to have respect for Him
and acknowledge Him as the one source of all that we are and have.
The more we truly humble ourselves and die to pride, the less we will
be affected by the criticism of others and look to God for the wisdom
we need to overcome all of our circumstances.
There is truly
no substitute for the wisdom that we obtain by God and the only way
to receive that wisdom is by knowing God's Word. His Word, is given
to us so that we can live life as one that is perfect and upright,
and one that fears God and eschews evil. “All scripture is given
by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God
may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” - II
Timothy 3:16,17. This means that it is important to know all of God's
Word, from the book of Genesis, to the book of Revelation. It
contains all the information we need to enjoy life, if we would have
simply chosen to listen and obey God's Word instead of rebelling
against it we would have saved ourselves a lot of pain and suffering.
I understand that there are some books that seem a little long
winded, but every word in the Bible has a special meaning and purpose
to it and actually evolves around one person, Jesus Christ. “In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God..............And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.” - John 1:1,14.
Those
who leave Jesus Christ out of their lives will never discover the
true source of wisdom that they need to enjoy the greatest discovery
of life, eternal life. Jesus is the source of all truth and unless
you are in God's Word you will never know the truth. To neglect and
disregard Him and His Word is to remain in ignorance of the true
purpose for life and remain in spiritual darkness. The more you read
it the more you will understand so it is also important to read it
faithfully over and over again. We can be sure that Satan will
attempt to distract us from the true source of wisdom and cause us to
make decisions based on circumstances or contemporary standards. “Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” -I Peter 5:8.
Today's Psalm: 101:2
“I will behave myself wisely
in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within
my house with a perfect heart.”
Today's
Prayer:
Dear God,
All my anxieties and all my
cares I bring them to You, Lord. You demonstrate mercy and compassion
as You become strength in place of my weakness, wisdom in place of my
lack of understanding and patience in my impatient heart. I look to
You, not myself or to others, for the answers to my troubles and for
Spirit-directed perspective in knowing how to deal with them. I
choose to trust in You, Lord for the True Wisdom that I can only
receive from You. In Jesus' Name.........Amen.
Have a
wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God
Bless,
Christina
