Today's
Message:
Speak
Freely
What
happened to our rights to speak freely about our Savior, Jesus
Christ? The truth is this, we have no rights, we have always been
told that we are not allowed to speak of or about the truth about
Jesus. However, we can rejoice in that fact because we are saved
children of the one and only Living God.
It boggles my mind
that in America we are known as the land of the free, in fact it is
in our constitution that we have a right to think and speak freely
about it yet that is not the case for Christian's. For example a
person can talk about God freely as many people do believe in God,
however the second a person mentions the name Jesus they are stopped
in their tracks and told to stop. Our schools, government,
businesses, and even communities are told they are not allowed to
speak about Jesus as to not offend others.
To
prove this, after three thousand people were saved on the day of
Pentecost and thousands witnessed the miracles that were being
performed by Peter and John through the Spirit of God, all the chief
priests and rulers gathered together over what they had heard and
saw, including many miracles in themselves, to figure out how they
can stop the apostles from telling more people about Jesus. “And
as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the
temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, Being grieved that they
taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from
the dead. And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the
next day: for it was now eventide.........“Then Peter, filled with
the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders
of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the
impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you
all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead,
even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the
stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the
head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we
must be saved.”
- Acts 4:1-3,8-12. Peter and John were arrested for teaching the
people the truth about Jesus, how He resurrected from the dead after
they crucified Him and killed Him and how they can be saved. These
people know that Jesus is as real and true as they are and they are
scared and mortified about that. So, they think if they pressured
Peter and John into keeping their mouths shut than no one will find
out that they have been deceived by these so called men of God. No
one ever doubts that Jesus existed, it's His power that scares them.
They know where they are going. But you know what the amazing thing
is? Jesus gives them a chance too to change that situation.
Their
threats did not stop Peter and John from preaching the Gospel, in
fact the more they got persecuted the more eager they were to tell
more people. “Then
came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison
are standing in the temple, and teaching the people. Then
went the captain with the officers, and brought them without
violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been
stoned. And when they had brought them, they set them before the
council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly
command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye
have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this
man's blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and
said, We ought to obey God rather than men..........And they departed
from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted
worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in
every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
- Acts 5:25-29, 41,42. An amazing thing happens when we truly believe
that Jesus is our Savior. We stop at nothing to tell of how He
changed our lives, no matter how many people try to stop us, we count
it as a blessing from God knowing that we are pleasing Him and taking
a stand for Him. Each
year that goes by Jesus is getting less and less recognition as our
Savior and being replaced by santa and bunnies more and more.
Christian's have been persecuted and died for telling the truth more
then any criminal act has been made, and this happens all over the
world. However, we rejoice knowing that Jesus is with us and our
suffering is a result of that. We keep going in the name of Jesus
because we know that one day we will no longer have to suffer any
pain or persecution for believing in our Savior. We rejoice in the
fact that we are saved children of a Living God, who is none other
than Christ Jesus. Praise God!
Today's
Prayer:
Dear
God,
Lord, spiritual
blessings come from You in the midst of satan’s attacks and because
of this essential truth we know that if You are for us, who can be
against us! There is no formidable foe that cannot be conquered as
the power of Your Holy Spirit enables us to remain faithful and ever
growing in our devotion to You. Remind us that as we share in Your
sufferings we also share in Your glory. In all areas of trouble,
hardship, persecution, famine, and danger we are more than conquerors
through You who loves us abundantly. Neither death nor life, will be
able to separate us from Your love that has been revealed to us
through Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. We rejoice with our family of
believers and we thank You for the paths of abundance You lay out
before us as we walk hand in hand with You who helps us in all
things. In Jesus' name..........Amen.
Have
a wonderful and blessed day/night
God
Bless You,
Christina
