Today's
Message:
Spiritual
Battle
We
are in a constant spiritual battle between doing what God and Satan
wants us to do, but by the grace of God we can overcome Satan's
deception.
The book of II Thessalonians is the 14th
book of the New Testament, 53rd
book of the Bible and contains 3 chapters. The author of the book
(epistle) is Paul and this was the second letter written to the
church at Thessalonica. The purpose of the letter was to instruct
believers awaiting for the return of Jesus. What we are to learn is
that it is important to teach and live by the sound doctrine of the
Bible.
There are two events that everyone in the world must
face, death and judgment when the return of Jesus takes place. It is
a devastating fact that the vast majority of mankind is blindly
heading toward hell. Good people, including many family and friends
are ignorantly ignoring the call to receive Jesus into their lives
and sadly will suffer greatly if they do not come to the realization
without Jesus God does not know who they are, no matter how much
praying or how faithful they are to church. Paul continues, "Seeing
it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them
that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the
Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In
flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that
obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished
with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from
the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his
saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our
testimony among you was believed) in that day. Wherefore also we pray
always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling,
and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of
faith with power: That the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him,
according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."
- II Thessalonians 1:6-10. When our physical body dies it is not
over, we must first go before God and anyone not found written in the
book of life will not join Him in heaven and will suffer greatly. The
only way to avoid this is by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior.
Much of the world has it's heart set on gaining more and more
of this life's material luxuries, they are never satisfied with what
they have, and always longing for more and more of what they really
do not need. When they can not meet these expectations fears and
frustrations grow as a result of their inability to cope adequately
with situations they can not change, which then leads to things like
physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion, depression, and burnout.
“For
the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth
will let, until he be taken out of the way. And
then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with
the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all
power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of
unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the
love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God
shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ”
- II Thessalonians 2:7-11. People
will do and believe anything in order to feel some sort of relief as
it is much easier to believe a lie than to believe the truth. I will
tell you that I know this to be a fact, there was a time in my life
when I wanted to taste what the world had to offer and I fell right
into it, oh I was happy for a little while, but it did not last and I
was always looking for something to make me happy again. This lead me
to a relationship that I did not need as well as getting caught up in
somethings that I really did not need. I was delusional and believing
all the lies that I thought were truths. However, God picked me up
and got me to see the truth and I am alive today only because of
that.
We need to remind ourselves daily that we
are in a spiritual battle against satanic forces, but through God's
grace we are saved and comforted by the Lord Jesus Christ. “Whereunto
he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our
Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the
traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our
epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father,
which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and
good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in
every good word and work.” - II Thessalonians 2:14-17. Take
a stand right now to live for Jesus and never let anyone talk you out
of it, life is hard enough as it is without having to go through it
alone. We do not have to be alone, we can get through every situation
with the hope and comfort of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Have
a wonderful and blessed day/night and Merry Christmas.
God
Bless You,
Christina
