Today's
Message: The Easy or Hard Way
We
do not know what the future will bring, but God already had our
future planned well before we even existed. It is up to us to decide
whether or not we are willing to go along with God the east way or
the hard way.
God's
assures each and every one of His children that He is taking care of
us and we should have no fear when we are in His care.
“But now
thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed
thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called
thee by thy name; thou art mine. When
thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the
fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon
thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:
I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Since thou
wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have
loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy
life.” - Isaiah 43:1-4. God is assuring us through His Word
and promises straight from
His mouth that He will take care of each of us. When the Children of
Israel came to the Red Sea, the sea parted. When the three children
of Israel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown in the fiery
furnace, not one hair one their head was even touched by the fire.
Then when Nebuchadnezzar looked into the fire he saw a forth in there
with them, which he described as "the Son of God". God
walked with them and they were not burned by the fire.
Today many people worry
about the tribulation when there is no reason why they should. If you
are a child of God, He has promised you that He will take care of
you.
We can get so secure and content with our
lives that we fail to realize that in the blink of an eye things can
turn upside down. When Isaiah was a prophet, the Israelite's felt
very secure. Jerusalem was the City of God and the sacred Temple
stood there. So, when he came to them and began telling them about
the prophecy concerning the ruins of Jerusalem he was rejected.
Through Isaiah, God foretold both the destruction and the rebuilding
of the Temple while the nation was still enjoying freedom and
prosperity. Also, during that time, Babylon, the capital city of the
Chaldean dynasty, was surrounded by massive walls about 300 feet
high. The Babylonians were certain that no one could invade their
great city. However, Isaiah foretold that a man named Cyrus would
conquer Babylon 150 years before it took place. “Thus
saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb,
I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the
heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; That
frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that
turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish; That
confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his
messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to
the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the
decayed places thereof: That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will
dry up thy rivers: That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall
perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be
built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.” -
Isaiah 44:24-28. Babylon thought itself invincible because of its
walls, as well as the great brass gates spanning the Euphrates which
ran through its center. However, God declared exactly how the city
would be taken by the armies of Cyrus. Cyrus
was a Gentile, and God used Him as a type of Christ to do His work.
God selected Cyrus one hundred and thirty years before He was born,
and He named Cyrus through the prophecies of Isaiah. He is now using
the birth and rising to power of Cyrus to show you that He has
complete control over all matters even from before their existence.
Even though God has control over all matters, every soul that
is born and lives in the flesh has the free will to chose for
themselves whether they will serve God, or Satan. He already knows
our choice, He also knows who is true to Him and who is not. He made
each and everyone of us and regardless of whether or not we choose to
follow Him, He uses each person in some way to get His true and
faithful to acknowledge Him, no matter how long it takes. We can do
things the easy way, by accepting Christ and learning how to live our
lives according to God's Word when He calls us. Or we can do things
the hard way, by ignoring God's Will and suffer needless suffering
until we realize we need Christ in our lives. Of course, as
Christian's we will still have to deal with some suffering, just as
all of the world does, but with Christ in our lives, we can live a
little more hopeful knowing that we are in God's Will. “Having
a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of
evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good
conversation in Christ. For
it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well
doing, than for evil doing. For Christ also hath once suffered for
sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being
put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” - I
Peter 3:16-18.
We
can not change the future no matter how much we try, but we can
change how we live our lives today so we do not have to suffer more
than we need to. I remember when I was younger how I ran from God
because I did not agree with the doctrine I was taught. I suffered
needless suffering instead of learning the truth, had I listened to
God when He first showed me the truth I probably would not have
suffered so much, but God knew what He was doing to get me back to
following His Will. I suffered, I prevailed, and now I am testimony
to others who are suffering or lost. God is a loving and forgiving
God that just wants us to live the best lives we can live and I
gladly take Him in my life over what the world has to offer, at least
I get more satisfaction from Him. We all can, if we simply choose to
ignore the world and seek God.
Today's
Prayer:
Dear
God,
Lord, You formed me and knew who I was going to be before I
was even born, you know my destiny and what is in my future. Help me
Lord to stay in You Will so I can go onward, looking forward to what
you have in my future. One thing I know for certain is that I will
see You one day and that is more exciting than anything that the
world can ever offer me. I love You, Lord and pray this in Jesus'
Name.........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed week
everyone. I apologize for this being posted a day late.
God Bless
You,
Christina
