Today's
Message:
The
Family of God
As
Christian's we are blessed to be in the family of God, the family of
God is more than going to church and saying that one believes in God,
we are only brought into the family of God by one thing and that is
the blood of One Man, Jesus Christ.
I can not stress enough
how important it is for all to realize that religion is the biggest
downfall of Christianity and will be what destroys the world.
Religion goes well beyond Christianity, religious leaders create
their own rules, books, and even gods, those who create occults and
even evolution is a religion. Many so called Christian religions also
make up their own rules rather than do what the Bible says. Oh, they
read a little bit of Scripture to deceive the people, but have no
idea what it means to be a Christian, in fact religion is what
actually led to Jesus being crucified.
To prove this fact,
the Pharisees, whom were
the largest group of Jews and the most influential, criticized Jesus'
disciples for picking corn on the Sabbath. “At
that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his
disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to
eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy
disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. But
he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an
hungred, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house
of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to
eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the
priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I
say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But
if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not
sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of
man is Lord even of the sabbath day.”
- Matthew 12:1-8. The law of God actually allowed one to be able to
pick corn from their neighbors field with their hands, they just were
not allowed to cut down their stalks. “When
thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest
pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto
thy neighbour's standing corn.”
- Deuteronomy 23:25. Christ came to free His followers, not only
from the corruptions of the Pharisees, but from their un-scriptural
rules, and He justified what they did. Those labors were lawful on
the Sabbath day because they were necessary for survival. The resting
on the Sabbath was ordained for man's good, needful provision for
health and food is to be made, but when servants are kept at home,
and families become a scene of hurry and confusion on the Lord's day,
to furnish a feast for visitors, or for indulgence, the case is very
different.
When the Pharisees and religious leaders saw Jesus
healing on the Sabbath, they quickly began to devise a plan to kill
Him. “Then
the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they
might destroy him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from
thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
And charged them that they should not make him known: That it might
be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Behold
my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well
pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to
the Gentiles. He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man
hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, and
smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto
victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.”
- Matthew 12:14-21. The truth of all this is that these men could
not stand the fact that Jesus used His authority to do what the
religious leaders couldn't do. He healed their bodies and gave them
peace of mind. He held the power and authority from God, and the
people saw it. Down through the centuries, there have been more acts
of killing for a religious cause, then any other singular cause,
except for natural death. Incidentally, a broken reed is a person to
frail to be relied upon. When a reed is bruised it just falls apart,
and can never be healed again or put back together. However, when on
accepts Christ He will take that broken reed and restore it, even to
the Gentiles. Jesus name is the light of the world, and the glory to
all Israel. He gives all that will call upon His name a new life and
a new start.
While Jesus was teaching to a crowd within a
home, He was interrupted, “Then
one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without,
desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that
told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched
forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and
my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in
heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” -
Matthew 12:46-50. Jesus made use of this interruption by giving a new
and loving view of His disciples as a happy family united to Himself,
to each other, and to our Father who is in heaven. This eternal
family relationship includes all who receive Him as Savior and desire
to do His will.
Have
a wonderful and blessed day/night enjoy your week.
God
Bless You,
Christina
