Details
of Today's Reading:
God gives specific details on what materials and how to construct the
Tabernacle, Aaron and his sons are appointed as priests or workers in
the Tabernacle, the garments to be worn while in the Tabernacle, and
ministering to the people.
Hello My Friend/Guest,
The
Bible says, “I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove
what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
- Romans 12:1,2. The word holy is defined as being sacred
or blessed, belonging
to,
deriving
from,
or
associated
with
God. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior then you are
holy, blessed, and associated with God. Praise God! We are blessed in
that all we have to do to be associated with God is simply ask His
Son, to save us. “That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.”
- Romans 10:9. Praise God!
Before Jesus came the people
needed a place to be able to reach God, So, He instructed Moses to
build a tabernacle. Everything from the wood, to the curtains, to the
spoons were given specific details on how tobe made and contructed.
When everything is set up God would dwell above the mercy seat, a
vail separated the holy place from the most holy place, where the
mercy seat would be placed.
“And
thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:..And
thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring
in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail
shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. And
thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the
most holy place.”
- Exodus 26:31,33,34.
Not Moses or anyone else could see God
face to face, as far as they could ever get was standing in the holy
place. They or anyone else would never step foot into the most holy
place. However, when Jesus came, He made a way to take down the vail.
“And
not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of
Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is
abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth
the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which
vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is
read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn
to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that
Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we
all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the
Spirit of the Lord.”
- II Corinthians 3:13-18. The vail is taken away when we allow Christ
to live in us through the Spirit of the Lord, or Holy Ghost. When we
accept Christ as our Savior the Holy Spirit dwells in us. In other
words, we are the mercy seat God dwells upon.
God appointed
Aaron and his sons, who were Levites, to be priests, Aaron would be
the high priest, the one who got the closest to God. He would
minister to the people and be the mediator, the one who would speak
to God on their behalf. Before Aaron was able step foot in the holy
place he had to wear special garments.
“And
take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from
among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the
priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar,
Aaron's sons. And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother
for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise
hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may
make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me
in the priest's office.. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and
his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before
the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not. And thou shalt
make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of
a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD...And it shall be upon Aaron's
forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which
the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it
shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before
the LORD...And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they
come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come
near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not
iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his
seed after him.”
- Exodus 28:1-3,35,36,38,43.
Today, we have only one
mediator to God, “For
there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man
Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in
due time.”
- I Timothy 2:5,6. Before we can even speak to God we need to put on
Christ, who is the special garment we need to even get to the holy
place. “Wherefore
take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation
of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God:”
- Ephesians 6:13-17.
Now, you can be in the holy place,
which is doing just enough to get your foot in the door to heaven,
where no one even notices that Christ is in you. Or you can be in the
most holy place, which is what happens when you allow Christ to truly
live in you. When you allow Christ to live in you you become a new
person, all of the sinful things you use to think you could not live
without are slowly replaced with godly things. “Wherefore
henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known
Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things
are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things
are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and
hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”
- II Corinthians 5:16-18. Praise God!
Did you know that Christ
has chosen you? He chose you to be a part of His life, well before
God even created the earth. “According
as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that
we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having
predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to
himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of
the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the
beloved.”
-Ephesians 1:4-6. Isn't that amazing? When you are in the most holy
place you become blessed beyond measure, if you truly want God's
blessings here on earth, listen to Him, He is talking to you.
Jesus
Christ Revealed:
Today Jesus is revealed through the Brasen Altar, by which the sin
offerings would be placed (27:1-8). Jesus became the final sacrifice
that would give an atonement for all who believe in Him. “For
if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of
his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus
Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”
- Romans 5:10,11.
Thanks and God Bless You, I am praying for
you,
Christina
