Today's
Message:
The
Living Water
Christ
will return sooner than we think, but as Christian's we have nothing
to fear because He will save us from all the pain and sorrow that we
had to endure over the years. Salvation and fellowship with God are
two great themes of the Bible. All who trust in His Word receive the
Living Water of Salvation and have experienced spiritual satisfaction
beyond compare. “In
the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried,
saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that
believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall
flow rivers of living water.”-
John 7:37,38. Praise God!
As Christian's, we can rejoice in
the fact that one day Jesus will return and save us from all the
sorrows, poverty, and wickedness that His people had to endure.
Amazingly, we learn of Isaiah foretelling the Millennium reign of our
Savior, Jesus Christ. “And
there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch
shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest
upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of
counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the
LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the
LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither
reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall
he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth:
and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the
breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.”
- Isaiah 11:1-4. Jesus will return and all those whom refused to
accept Him into their lives will, in fact, be destroyed along with
the earth.
However, the promise made through Isaiah
concerning the Ruler who would come from King David, the Root of
Jesse, is far-reaching and anticipates the millennial reign of Christ
to be followed by the new heavens and the new earth. “Behold,
God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD
JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name,
declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is
exalted. Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this
is known in all the earth.”
- Isaiah 12:2-5. We can rejoice in the fact that Jesus will save all
His people and we will be able to enjoy eternity with Him on a new
earth that will have no wickedness, sorrow, or poverty, but unless
you know Him personally as your Savior you will join us on the new
earth.
Isaiah also looked beyond the defeat of the northern
kingdom by Assyria to the future when Babylon would carry the people
of Judah into captivity. Surprisingly, about 180 years before it took
place, he also foretold Babylon's defeat and destruction, “Behold,
I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver;
and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. Their bows also shall
dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the
fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children. And Babylon,
the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall
be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be
inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to
generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall
the shepherds make their fold there.”
- Isaiah 13:17-20. Isaiah also prophesied about Israel's future
restoration “And
the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the
house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for
servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose
captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors. And it
shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from
thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou
wast made to serve, That thou shalt take up this proverb against the
king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden
city ceased!”
- Isaiah 14:2-4. It is a bit scary to know that the when Christ does
return that the whole earth will be destroyed as Babylon, but we can
also be put at ease because just as Israel will be restored so will
the earth. As Christian's we have nothing to fear because we along
with Isaiah can proclaim that the Lord Jesus, is our Savior, our
strength comes from Him and only Him.
We can not afford to
neglect the joy of drawing from the water of salvation provided in
His Word for the day-by-day cleansing from all sin. We can praise the
Lord that we have been cleansed. “But
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us
from all sin.”
- I John 1:7. Praise God!
Enjoy the rest of your day/night
and week.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
