Hello My Friend/Guest,

Today is Thursday January 07, 2010 and we are reading through the Bible in a year. Today's message comes from the reading of the book of Genesis chapters 19-21. The Holy Spirit has led me to talk about a subject that is very touchy and may upset a lot of people, but it is something that must be talked about and that is immorality. As much as we would like to ignore the fact that immorality is not a sin, it is in fact a sin and one that God detests more than any. Why? Because immorality not only destroys the body, it destroys the soul also. “
But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.” - Proverbs 6:32. Immorality is not just committing adultery, committing immorality means taking the Temple (body) that God dwells in and feeding it things that are wicked and evil. Immorality is any act done by the body of an immoral quality, character, or conduct, this includes fornication, a man and woman living together that are not married, homosexuality, incest, self gratification, even drug and alcohol abuse is considered immorality.

While the world would like us to think that it's okay to live this way, which is why the majority do not follow God, it is utterly wrong. In fact, God detests it so much that He has destroyed nations over it. We think that homosexuality and fornication is something that has just developed over the twentieth century, but it has been something that has been going on since shortly after the world began. As Abraham was preparing to be a father, his nephew Lot who was dwelling in the land of Sodom was visited by two angels. Sodom was a very wicked nation, full of immorality and it was because of this that God was about to destroy it, He used the angels to warn Lot before the destruction took place. “
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat..........And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.”- Genesis 19:1-3, 12,13. Now, do not get me wrong, God loves every one of His children and forgives all who have asked for forgiveness through the Lord, Jesus Christ, but that does not mean that He condones these acts, God will not condone any sin that is committed knowingly. Throughout the Scriptures, God tenderly and patiently leads us from sin, seeking the pleasures of self, and shows us that true happiness is the result of integrity in all circumstances.

Before I knew God personally, I admit that I did some immoral things, much of which could have been avoided had I stayed away from those who were living immoral in the first place. However, there was no excuse for my behavior, I deserved all the chastening that I had got for doing so. Thank God that He did chasten me because He showed me that what I did was wrong and it has turned my life around completely. Do I still make mistakes? Of course I do. Do I live immorally? No. I now have dwelling in me, as well as everyone else who has received Christ as their Savior, the Holt Spirit, who is God. If I do something immoral, I am not only defiling my flesh, I am defiling my soul and God as well. Whenever I even think that I can get away with doing something immoral, I think of this passage, “
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” - I Corinthians 3:16,17.

It truly does us good to remain faithful and committed to God, Abraham was faithful and remained committed to God even though there were times he had some questions as to when the things He promised would come to pass. However, his faithfulness paid off as his wife, Sarah gave birth to their child, Issac at the age of ninety. “
And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.” - Genesis 21:1-7. The birth of Isaac was a loving and gracious expression of the sovereign power of God but, more important, it was the fulfillment of His Word, proof of the faithfulness of the Covenant-keeping God. When Abraham had a child with Hagar, God could have pushed him away and told him that he was not worthy enough to become the father of many nations, instead He forgave him and blessed him. God will bless anyone who will come to Him for forgiveness.

Enjoy the rest of your day/night and
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
