Hello My Friend/Guest,
“Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall
hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the
Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in
himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is
the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are
in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done
good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the
resurrection of damnation. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I
judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will
of the Father which hath sent me…Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye
have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come
to me, that ye might have life.” – John 5:25-30,39.
So many people go through life thinking that there are several ways in which they
can get to heaven, to receive eternal life. I have heard or ways such as being
good, helping others, praying for someone to get into heaven, going to church, my
religion etc. The truth us this; we cannot work our way to heaven, we cannot
pray someone into heaven, we cannot get to heaven through our religion, the one
and only way to get to heaven is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. If you
believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and called on Him to
take you to heaven then you are going to heaven, you have eternal life. If you
are depending on yourself to get you to heaven, you have eternal damnation.
Jesus is returning and when He does even those in the graves will have to face
Him for judgment, meaning our souls will reunite with our bodies and resurrect
for judgment.
Perhaps one of the most controversial and often misunderstood topics of the
Bible is the resurrection. The word resurrection means, a rising again, to
return from the grave. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in
me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in
me shall never die. Believest thou this?” - John 11:25,26. It is
only by our faith in Jesus Christ that we have life. Through Ezekiel, God showed
an amazing prophecy concerning the resurrection.
“The hand of
the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me
down in the midst of the valley which was
full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open
valley; and, lo, they were very
dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O
Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and
say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD…So I prophesied as I
was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking,
and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the
sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
Then said he
unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon
these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the
breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an
exceeding great army. ”- Ezekiel 37:1-4,7-10.
The vision that Ezekiel saw was one that foreseen a desolate nation coming back
to life through the Power of God and all His people receiving a new, godly,
spirit filled body. God is life and without God we have no life in us. The
second we call on Jesus to save us God renews a new spirit within us and give
life to our dead flesh. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal
life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that
hath not the Son of God hath not life.” - I John 5:11,12.
When Jesus returns God shall have mercy on the house of Israel, Israel also
shall know the Lord, as revealed in and by Christ., converting them to
Christianity, and when they shall have born the shame of being cast off for
their sins, then all nations shall learn, know, worship, and serve the only
living God. Through Ezekiel, God foretells this time.
“Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and
have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy
name; After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby
they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none
made them afraid. When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered
them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of
many nations; Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused
them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto
their own land, and have left none of them any more there. Neither will I hide
my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of
Israel, saith the Lord GOD.” -Ezekiel 39:25-29.
The pouring out of the Spirit is a pledge that God's favor will continue, He
will hide his face no more from those on whom He has poured out His Spirit.
This is not also true for the people of Israel, but for all who have accepted
Jesus Christ as their Savior. Christ suffered on the cross for every person
created by God and offers salvation to all who believe in Him, “What then? are
we better than they? No, in no
wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under
sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that
understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God…Even the righteousness of
God which is by faith of Jesus
Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by
his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” – Romans 3:9-11,22-24.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, we are encouraged and comforted by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Your
Son. It is because of His resurrection that we have hope of our future
resurrection, when our bodies will be stripped of the grave clothes of this
mortal life, and we will be clothed in immortality. We will no longer be
acquainted with sickness, sorrow, pain, loss or sinfulness. The temptation to
sin will not exist in our future life and our Adversary, the devil, will bother
us no more. What anticipation this builds when we see You face to face in our
glorified, eternal bodies. Keep us faithful and looking unto Jesus until
the day of His return. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
