Today's
Message:
True
Source of Light
We
may be walking, talking, breathing flesh, but if we do not have God
with us we have no life, if we have no life we live in darkness and
can not see what the True Source of Light is.
The
book of John is the 43rd
book of the Bible, 4th
book of the New Testament, and contains twenty-one chapters. The
author of the book is John, a disciple of Jesus, and it was written
to All
believers, to whom John portrays Jesus as the Son of God. The purpose
of the book was to show All that Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of
God, and the way to everlasting life. What we are to learn from the
book is Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and the only
source of salvation and everlasting life.
The story of Jesus,
the Gospels, the Commandments, the Old and New Testaments are all
apart of God's Word, it was here even before the world was created.
“In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made
by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him
was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in
darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
- John 1:1-5. All
things were made by God and it is Him that gives us life. Without God
there would not even have been life, we are not just some specks that
emerged into a human being we are created by One Living God who gives
us life. The word light has many definitions, but the one that
grabbed my attention most is, an illuminating agent or source, as the
sun. The sun is the biggest source of light to the human eye.
However, there is one light that shines above anything that the sun
can touch and that light is God.
John the Baptist was not
only sent by God, but was also named by God. The word "John"
means
"God's gift", and John was a gift of God, sent to man, to
bear witness of the Light. That Light, is Jesus Christ. “There
was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The
same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men
through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to
bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth
every man that cometh into the world..........And the Word was made
flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of
the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
- John 1:6-9,14. Jesus
Christ is the Word of God in the flesh, He is the Living Word and the
true Light who gives us life. Every person, no, every embryo created
was not done by accident, they were created by God for a purpose.
Everything that has life is created by God and was even known to be
before this earth was created. God created your body and soul, but He
also gave us the free will to either come into the Light and live by
His grace and truth or live in darkness.
When God first
created man, He gave him a body (the physical flesh), a soul (the
mind/conscious), and a spiritual body (Spirit of God/Life). This is a
complete body that has life to it, but when man sinned God took away
the spiritual body, leaving it incomplete, lifeless, and dark. Every
person that is born is incomplete, having no spiritual body. However,
God did not want us to be lifeless so He decided to make a way for us
to be able to receive that life. That way is to be reborn in the
Spirit through Jesus Christ. Jesus Said, “That
which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born
again.”
- John 3:6,7. In order to have the flesh and Spirit as one we must be
born again and the only way to be born again is by accepting the Lord
Jesus Christ as our Savior. “But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us. Much
more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from
wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall
be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by
sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
- Romans 5:8-12.
We
truly are a bunch of lifeless souls when we do not have Jesus in our
lives, we may think we have everything under control or that we are
happy and free, but deep down we are just a bunch of robots trying to
bring life to our lifeless souls, living in the dark. Not one person
reading this can tell me that there was not a time in their lives
when they have felt that way. We
do not have to be lifeless and dark, we can be alive and shine so
bright that everyone that passes us by needs sunglasses. That light
only comes from the True Light, Jesus Christ. That Light shines so
bright that every person, even those who live in the world can see
life in you.
Have
a wonderful and blessed day/night
God
Bless You,
Christina
