Today's
Message:
Understanding
God
We
are not required to understand everything that God does or allows,
but we are required to be faithful and obedient to His Word if we
want to overcome the circumstances in our lives.
God
continues to speak, He revealed to Job more of the wonders of the His
creation. Job's faith in God and his patience allowed him to
acknowledge the God was the supreme authority over all things and how
little is actually known by mankind. “Then
Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that thou canst do every
thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. Who is he
that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that
I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and
declare thou unto me. I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear:
but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in
dust and ashes.”
- Job 42:1-6. Job was saying to God, “I do not have the knowledge
to understand all the things that happened to me. I now see that Your
love and wisdom are far more wonderful than anything that I will ever
know, therefore, I will never question Your wisdom again”. Those
who trust in the Lord, as Job did, are not searching for the answers
to all of life's problems, nor asking the questions: "Why?"
or "Why me?" They are simply trusting our loving, wise,
Counselor, who always knows what we need and will give the best to
those who trust Him.
Now, we begin the Book of Psalm, please
read chapters 1-9 in your Bible or Click

them.

The
Book of Psalm is the nineteenth book of the Old Testament/Bible and
contains one hundred and fifty chapters. There main author of the
book was David, but there were several others as well, the book was
first written to the Israelite's. The
book was known as the hymn book of Israel. The word "Psalms"means
"songs to the accompaniment of a stringed instrument.” It is
the prayer and praise book of the Bible. What we are to learn from
the book is that prayer, praise, intercession, and confession are all
part of true worship to God. There are several types of Psalms and
they are categorized into five sections, man, deliverance, sanctuary,
earth, and God's Word. Psalms 1-41 concerns man, his state of
blessedness, fall, and recovery.
The key to understanding how
God blesses us begins with understanding the first Psalm of the
Bible. “Blessed
is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful. But
his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he
meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the
rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his
leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth
away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor
sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth
the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”
- Psalm 1.
1. Avoid The Ungodly, “walketh
not in the counsel of the ungodly,”
The
ungodly may live lifestyles that conform to today's “politically
correct” society, but they live and act as though God does not
exist. They
assume that any religion, or none at all, is equally acceptable. In
doing this, they feel no accountability to God and see no need of a
Savior, bringing others down in the fire with them.
2. Avoid
The Sinners “nor
standeth in the way of sinners”
This
includes some Christians. Just because one claims to be a Christian
it does not mean that they are living life as a Christian should.
Sinners speak, act, think, and live to please themselves. They may
appear honest, upright, and generous in the eyes of the majority of
people, but in reality they are deceitful and see no need to repent
because they believe themselves not to be sinners.
3. Avoid
The Scornful “nor
sitteth in the seat of the scornful”
The
scornful are those who belittle God and Christianity, they are
completely against God being the Father and Creator of all things and
against worshiping Jesus Christ as God the Son. Most stand firmly and
openly against the Bible and Jesus Christ as the only way to be saved
and reach heaven.
4. Delight in God's Word “delight
is in the law of the LORD”
We
must desire to know all of God's Word and to delight in following it.
Delighting in God's word is threefold, if we delight in knowing His
Word we will learn that God's delights in our pleasing Jesus Christ.
When we delight in pleasing Jesus, we will meditate upon His Word. As
we meditate prayerfully in
His Law,
the Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts, revealing the meaning of His
Word for our lives. Therefore, allowing us to be blessed and prosper
in all that we do. “be
like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his
fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever
he doeth shall prosper.”
We
need to memorize this Psalm and keep it in our hearts until the day
we meet God in heaven. God created many wonders of the universe and
on the earth, so many that we are just discovering and have yet to
discover. However, God reveals all in His own timing, He truly is the
Creator of all things and is in control over every bit of it, no
matter how many scientists try to prove otherwise. All of us need to
be reminded that our limited knowledge and ability to cope with life
should cause us to realize how foolish, as well as sinful, it is to
question the wisdom and love of God for His children. We need to
accept, with submissive hearts, the circumstances He allows in our
lives, which He will use to fulfill His loving, eternal purpose
through us. “Now
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen................ But without faith it is impossible to please
him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he
is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
- Hebrews 11:1,6.
Today's
Prayer:
Dear
God,
We place our complete trust in You, for You are a faithful,
trustworthy, and loving to all Your children. As we feed on Your
faithfulness and live by Your righteousness revealed to us through
the Scriptures we find ourselves delighting in Your presence. We
also delight in You when we read Your Word, sing praises to You, give
ourselves to You and to others, and most especially when we commune
with You in prayer. May the desires of our heart bring delight
to Yours as we conform ourselves to Your Will and rid ourselves of
the things of the world. In Jesus' Name.........Amen.
Have
a wonderful and blessed day/night and weekend.
God
Bless,
Christina
