Forgive
God? How absurd! The very idea may seem ridiculous, even offensive
to some people, but there are times when it seems the only way one
can be reconciled with the One True God is to forgive Him.
Truly,
forgiving God is never necessary, and yet you may have experienced a
time in your life when you have had some resentment, even hatred
toward God for situations that you have found yourself in. Or
perhaps a loved one, an innocent stranger, or a child, has suffered
horribly, all because God did not rescue them or prevent them from
getting harmed.
You simply can not blame God for things that
you bring upon yourself. If you want to improve your life you need
to learn to get over the past and move forward. Do you think that
anyone that caused you pain in some way is having sleepless nights
or dreaming of some way to get even with you? Life goes on and
unless you do as well you will never get ahead in life.
God
does not want to punish you or cause you harm, He wants you to be
the best that you can be! You think He comes up with commands to
keep you from having fun, but that is completely false. He wants you
to enjoy life to the fullest, but in a way that is respectful and
shows morals. Any father would want his child to have the best life
possible, that is why there are rules that we need to follow.
Yes,
some things in life happen due to past sins, even sins that family
and friends committed, but some things happen simply for God to
prepare, teach, and even protect us. Some things we will never know
the reason until we see God face to face. However, just as we have
to forgive those who wronged us we also need to forgive God if we
feel He has wronged us. Always, remember that God uses all
situations, good and bad for good who love Him. "And we know
that all things work together for good
to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
(Romans 8:28).
The death of a loved one may be to save them
from even more pain or suffering. A child or woman that has been
abused or hurt may make us aware of dangerous people, whom we should
have never trusted, and allows us to save others from being
victimized. A tragic accident may make us aware of safety issues or
dangerous habits that we need to break.
We all have
experienced a time in our lives when we look up to God and ask
"Why?", but no matter what happens God loves us and wants
the best for us. Every situation we are faced with prepares us and
grows us and it is up us to decide whether or not we want to use
that experience to do better or worse with our lives. We can not
hold on to grudges unless we are willing to spend the rest of our
lives hating life and blaming others or God for situations we create
all on our own or can not control.
