Destruction
of God's Word
When I see what is going on in the world
today and especially in America I can not help, but reflect on the
Old Testament when Babylon completely destroyed Jerusalem and held
the Israelites captive. (II Kings 24). Slowly, we are becoming a
nation like Jerusalem, many of God's people are turning from Him and
following false god religions such as evolution. The One and Only
True God is being replaced by false prophets, false churches, and
false theories.
To successfully destroy a structure,
all one needs do is dig away at the foundation and eventually the
entire structure would come tumbling down, no matter how sturdy it
was built. God's Word, is the foundation for the structure of
Christianity. Through His Word, He has laid out His whole plan for
our lives, first our temporal stay on earth and then our eternal
lives. This divine and wonderful book is the foundation that keeps
the structure of Christianity from tumbling down. Sadly, those who
refuse God's Word and even those claiming to know God's Word, are
slowly etching away at this foundation and eventually the whole
structure will be destroyed.
The theory of evolution is in
direct opposition to the foundational doctrine of creation first laid
out in the book of Genesis. If evolution were ever to be
generally accepted by the Christian community, it would successfully
destroy the foundational biblical column of creation, and would truly
put into question the rest of the Holy Scriptures. However, the
problem is actually much deeper. Evolution, in its deepest
roots, has its basic assumption that there is no God. Most
evolutionists are atheists. Those evolutionists that are Christians
generally are either uninformed concerning the ramifications of their
belief, or are afraid to admit the truth in the face of ridicule from
their peers.
God's Warnings About
Evolution
God gave us several clear warnings in the
Bible that in the last days, evolution would be a worldwide problem.
The word evolution does not appear in the Bible because it did not
exist at the time it was written. Instead, God describes this concept
using terminology that those who lived during the time of the Bible
would understand. He also uses terminology that we would be able to
understand today. It is not too hard to figure out that what these
verses are warning us about are some of the core principles that
evolution is based upon, it also proves facts about our world's
history on how evolutionary theory will deny God in the last days of
the earth. Below you will see Scripture relating to these warnings
The
Last Days Before Christ
"Knowing
this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking
after their own lusts, for since the fathers fell asleep, all things
continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."-
II Peter 3:3,4. What this means, in the last days before Christ, we
will find many people mocking God's Word and creating their own ideas
of creation. This is a perfect example of how Darwin fathered the
theory of evolution, when he died he had absolutely no proof that his
theory became a fact. Then others carried on the theory, adding to
it, e.g. George Lemaitre and the Big Bang theory. Their primary
motivation will be to turn away from God, and to live their lives
according to their own desires, contrary to the will of God.
Willfully
Ignorant To God's Word
"For
this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the
heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in
the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with
water, perished:" - II Peter 3:5,6. What this means is
that many will completely ignore God's Word about creating heaven,
earth, the waters on the earth, and the great flood of the earth. The
denial of a global flood is a very big deal because of the massive
impact that flood had on the planet. Ignore those impacts and you are
certain to misinterpret much of the observable evidence, especially
in the scientific disciplines of geology, paleontology and
biology.
The secular worldview cannot allow the recent global
flood of the Bible. It would have destroyed the rock and fossil
evidence twisted to support long ages of evolution and would have
deposited its own. Worldwide upheaval of rocks and fossils in all
mountain tops scream of a global catastrophic flood in the past. To
be preserved, fossils must be buried suddenly, at death and with
water. Evolutionists claim, "Fossils prove evolution." 100
years before radiometric dating, fossils were arranged to form the
Geologic Column and arbitrarily assigned ages that assumed evolution
was true. Now that chart is considered "proof" of evolution
and the calendar for dating rocks and fossils.
God's
Warning About Repentance
"But
the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept
in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one
thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his
promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to
us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come
to repentance." - II Peter
3:7-9. God warns those who continue to ignore His Word that they need
to repent quickly or face judgment and perdition (utter destruction)
and that one day will seem like a thousand years of torture.
God's
Warning About The End of The Earth
"But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which
the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements
shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are
therein shall be burned up." - II Peter 3:10. God warns
all that Jesus will come in the blink of an eye and when that happens
utter destruction will become of the entire earth, meaning the entire
earth will burn up in a ball of fire along with anyone who has not
repented and returned to God.
It is important to remember
that Genesis is the foundation of the Word of God, which makes
Genesis the foundation to message of Jesus Christ. If we are to teach
and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ fully, then we must not allow
anyone to chip away our foundation in an attempt to knock down the
Scriptures of Truth.
Evolutionary theory points to the book
of Genesis and its account of how the universe, and everything
contained therein, was formed as theory itself. It follows then that
if Genesis is just a theory, and is not the correct account of the
way things actually happened, then what about the integrity of the
rest of the Bible? The rejection of creation in favor of
evolution would bring into question the validity of all the rest of
the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments. Inevitably, the
authority of the Bible in the life of a Christian would be
significantly lessened if not completely eliminated. And without the
authority of the Bible, we no longer have a basis for right and
wrong. Without the Bible, everyone can make up their own rules.
Hence, we have the doctrinal importance of creation. Biblical
creation is a foundational doctrine on which all the other doctrines
rest. Pull down this foundational doctrinal column, and the entire
structure of Christianity will be destroyed.
